The Triangle of Love – Chapter 17
Alice: You calling me fat?
Dana: Baby, he’s just talking in general.
Alice smiled at Dana at hearing her calling her baby again. She thought she could never get tired of hearing that. Alice looked back to Dr. Edwards to allow him to continue.
Dr. Edwards: So, I’ll go get the routine. I’ll be back in a few.
As he left, Alice looked back at Dana, with a worried look.
Alice: Dane, I’m scared.
Dana: Why, Al?
Alice: Lara, what if she’s waiting?
Dana: Don’t worry, ill protect you. And even if she is, we’ll get through it, together.
Alice: Okay.
After they got their routine, Dana called Shane and asked if she could pick them up. Shane was right on time and took Alice and Dana back to Danas. Alice invited her in, but Shane politely turned down the invitation, knowing Alice and Dana needed time to settle. They made their way inside the house and put Alice’s things in the bedroom. Dana went to make some coffee for them both before walking back into the living room. She helped Alice out of her chair and onto the couch. There was a fair amount of space between them, and Dana had suddenly become nervous. She knew Alice couldn’t could closer to her, but she couldn’t work up the courage to shuffle closer to Alice. She noticed Alice looking at her, so she turned her head to look her in the eyes.
Alice: Hold me?
Dana didn’t hesitate. It was as if the confirmation from Alice gave her the courage she needed. She shuffled closer to Alice, until there was no space between them. Suddenly she got a better idea.
Dana: Hey, Al?
Alice: Yeah?
Dana: Are you tired?
Alice: A little, nothing a nap couldn’t sort out.
Dana: Okay.
Dana stood up and laid Alice down on the couch, making sure she was comfy, especially her legs. Alice looked up at Dana, wondering if she had done or said something wrong. She watched Dana go into the bedroom, and not 30 seconds later, she walked back out with a thin blanket in her hands. When she got back to the couch, she gently lifted Alice’s head and shoulders and sat down, placing Alice’s head in her lap. She spread the blanket across Alice and began stroking her hair. Alice sighed, loving the feeling of Dana’s hands massaging her scalp. The way Alice was laid, she could look up to look straight into Danas eyes. They locked eyes and smiled at each other. Dana laid her spare hand across Alice’s stomach, while Alice immediately grabbed the free hand and entwined their fingers. Dana leaned down to kiss Alice on the forehead, but Alice lifted her head slightly. Just before their lips met, Dana pulled back slightly, meeting Alice’s eyes that were now showing her worry. She wanted more than anything to kiss Alice, but she wanted to make sure Alice was absolutely sure she wanted to.
Dana: Are you sure?
Alice: I’m sure. Kiss me, Dane.
Dana leaned in slowly, keeping eye contact as much as possible. As soon as their lips met, their eyes closed. It was a simple kiss. Not passionate or anything like that. But simple. It showed the love they had for each other. Dana couldn’t believe what she was feeling. It was amazing. The kiss only lasted a couple of seconds, but just feeling Alice’s lips against hers, she was sure Alice was her soulmate. When Dana pulled away seconds later, she looked down at Alice, whose eyes were still closed and her mouth in the cutest smile she’d ever seen. They stayed that way for the rest of the day, falling asleep and catching up on that much needed rest, determined to show everyone how much they loved each other the next day.

Nice, but I’m worried about Lara.
