He looked behind him. “Who her? No, she’s just a friend of mine. She’s just visiting me.” He walked to his desk and sat down. Alice followed and stood next to Dana. She looked down at her. “Hi.”

    Dana looked up. “Hi.”

“Dana, this is Alice Pieszecki. She helps me with what I like to call ‘out of the office’ patients. She’s the person who helps my patients when they can’t make office visits.”

“But I’m not a registered doctor. I mean, I’m registered, but the only thing I do is talk to the patients, I can’t give prescriptions or anything like that. Only he can do that.”

“I’m Dana Fairbanks.” She shook Alice‘s hand.

Kyle wrote something down on a piece of paper. He folded it, got up, and handed it to Alice. “Make sure Marco gets this, okay?”

“Sure thing, Doc.” She looked at her watch. “I gotta go. Bye Kyle, Mister Vince, whatever you like to be called.” She walked towards the door and opened it. “Nice to meet you Dana.” She walked out and closed the door behind her.

“Quite a character, that girl.” He looked at his clock. “Well, Dana it was nice to see you again, but I have an appointment in a couple of minutes.”

“Okay. I have to go anyway.” She got up and gave him a hug. “Stay healthy.”

“You too.” She was half way across his office when she saw something on the floor. It was a cell phone. “Hey, Kyle, is this yours?”

“No. I think it’s Alice‘s, it probably feel out when she got the paper from her pocket. Do me a favor and see if you can catch up to her and give it to her.”

“Yeah.” The thought of being able to see Alice again excited Dana for some reason. She walked out of his office and back into the lobby. She found Alice waiting for the elevator. “Um, I think this is yours.” She held out the cell phone.

“Oh.” Alice checked her pockets. “Yeah, that’s mine.” She took the phone from Dana. “Sorry about that, the whole scene in the office.”

“It’s okay, you were only doing your job.”
