    The Second Dinner

The events of the past few months had been swirling in Dana’s head.
    Tonya…The engagement… Alice …Bette & Tina…baby
Angelica…Lara. She snapped out of her reflective session when her
phone rang. Looking at the caller ID she saw it was Zoe an old friend
from tennis camp, they hadn’t spoke in a while but she always kept her
    number.

    “Hi Zoe. How’s things?”

The chirpy voice on the other end was clearly full of excitement and Dana couldn’t help but smile to herself.

“Dana, I’m opening a restaurant in West Hollywood! I told you I would one day.”

Shocked but not really surprised Dana remembered back at how her friend
had always said she didnt think she would ever win big, so was going to
save every penny she won and invest in a restaurant.

“Oh my God, that’s fantastic! When is it opening?”

“This Friday night, 7pm onwards.  I’ll put you, plus one on the guest list. You gonna bring anyone special?”

Smiling to herself again she replied “I have someone in mind, I’ll see you Friday. Bye.”

With that she snapped her phone shut and jumped up off the couch just as Alice came into the room.

    “Hey babe, who was that?”

For a second Dana panicked but surprised herself at how quickly she
came up with a lie. “It was one of the agents for Subaru, he wants to
meet me this Friday to discuss the direction of our next ad campaign”

“Oh, ok. I was thinking we would go over to Bette and Tina’s to see Angelica but I can go alone. I’ll miss you.”

With that comment, Alice leaned forward and kissed Dana lightly on the
lips, then walked into the kitchen. Dana couldn’t help but pull a face
at Alice’s last comment. ‘Miss me? I’m only going to dinner, not on
tour.’  Then she quickly remembered she had to make plans for
    Friday night and bounded upstairs.

Reaching the bedroom, Dana closed the door and opened her cell phone.
In the phonebook memory she scrolled down to “L”, after two rings it
    was answered.

“Hey, its me. About that second dinner…
