The Pain of Separation-Chapter 2
Helena: Baby what’s wrong? Sweety wake up, are you ok?
Tina: Huh? What…( she continues to look around, discerning her surroundings) Oh Lena… hey, yeah I’m fine, just a…um…uhh…a dream (she says hastily) a dream, about what I hope you have in store for me tonight. (She says as she leans in and kisses her good morning.)
Helena: Oh yeah? Well I hope I compare ok to what you were dreaming about.
Tina: What are you talking about? (Tina says in a manner that shows her irrational thought of wondering if she was speaking of comparing to Bette.)
Helena: Well all that I’m saying is that I hope that you’re dreams don’t depict me as the “Master Lover”.
Tina: No they don’t, trust me.
Helena: Okay, (laughing a little and slightly caught off gaurd by Tina’s response) don’t be so adomate about it.
Tina: I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that, but I really have to get going.
Helena: But I thought we might try out that dream of yours?
Tina: I know, maybe tonight but I’m running late to meet up with the gang at The Planet.
Tina sits up and gets out of bed and makes her way to the shower, while Helena’s left a little confused, but doesn’t think much of it and dismisses it as one of Tina’s episodes of odd behavior. As Tina’s in the shower, she just sits with her head hanging down letting the hot water run over her, just then, she remembered how Bette used to tell her that extremely hot showers weren’t good for her or her skin, so she reached down and adjusted the water temperature. Then she thought to herself…”*****. Why does everything have to go back to her? Although I guess that there’s bound to be alot that would remind me of her, because after all, we had shared seven years of our lives together. And what the *****? What the ***** was with that dream? I know that it’s only been a month and a half since I left Bette but still. I have moved on with my life right? That’s why I felt that I could go on with Helena. Okay, don’t freak, don’t over analyze things, it was one dream and that was it…oh wait, there was one other, but that really is it. Anyway who cares, it’s not like I could control it. Oh *****, I’m late.”

Dana walks in to join Shane and Alice having what seems, from their viewpoint, to be a meaningless conversation.
Alice: No I’m telling you Shane, I’ve done a story about it, when you dream, it’s usually about something that has been on your mind alot, or, something that you want. Dreams have meaning.
Shane: Ok, so what you’re saying is that last night, if I dreamed that I was flying away on a rainbow colored elephant, that that somehow ties into what I want in life? Oh hey Dane.
Dana: Hey Shane, hey Al…(Alice interrupts)
Alice: Hey Dana.( She says quickly, wanting to get back to the topic of discussion so as to prove her point.)
Dana: lice…(Dana finishes her name to herself as Alice continues talking.)
Alice: Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying Shane, I can do a dream analysis for you if you want me to, and I bet, I will be right on point with what your desires have been lately…come on, are you worried that I might be right?
Shane: No I just don’t see the point, but if you must…
Alice: Ok, well the fact that the elephant was rainbow colored I think speaks for itself as to what that meant. (Shane rolls her eyes and shakes her head.) And the reason that you were flying is because you must be having a “crack” “smack” or “blow” deficiency. Huuhh, come on, what’d I tell you? Am I right or am I right?
Shane didn’t need to say anything in response to that because you could tell by the look on her face that she thought that it was stupid.
Dana: Al, that is the most ridiculous thing, that I have ever heard.
Alice: No it isn’t, you know that it’s true. I just need another test subject, what was your dream Dana?
Dana: I never remember my dreams…I don’t think.
Alice: Of course. Oh look, nevermind, here comes Tina, I’ll ask her, and even better, I don’t think that her dreams include flying camels or elephants or whatever the ***** it is that you dream about. (Alice waves Tina over to their table.)
Tina: Hey people, how’s everything? (Tina puts her purse down by her chair as she sits down.) Why does Shane look so unconvinced?
Dana: Alice is trying to convince us that all dreams have meaning, and that Shane’s dream last night, with pink elephants and flying and stuff, had some profound hidden message.
Shane: Ok, first of all, they weren’t camels, it was an elephant, and it was just one, and it wasn’t pink, it was rainbow colored. Oh yeah, and plus, I never confirmed that that is really what I dreamed about anyway. (Shane adds.)
(Tina raises an eyebrow and looks at Alice so as to give her a look like she might have a point based on the fact that the elephant was a rainbow.)
Alice: Anyway, (she interrupts) that’s why I need you Tina, because these two are lost causes.
Tina: Need me for what exactly?
Alice: I need to know your dream so that I can analyze it and prove these biotches wrong. (She said playfully.)
Tina: My dream? Oh well…I don’t think that I had a dream.
Alice: Come on Tina, everybody has a dream every night.
Tina: Oh ok, well then I must not remember it.
Alice: Wow you guys are no help at all.
Tina, slightly frazzled, gets up and goes to the restroom.
Alice: Hey wasn’t Helena supposed to come with Tina today? I mean aren’t we supposed to be sort of inducting her into our crew?
Dana: Is it just me or does Tina and Helena seem redundant?
Alice: Yeah or even moreso, Tina and Lena. She says laughing.)
Shane: Ok guys, we have to be nice and a little more accepting of her, and while yes I see your points, it doesn’t matter, we shouldn’t joke like that.
Alice: Yeah whatever, I guess you’re right.
Dana: Yeah what she said.
%%%Back at Bette’s House%%%
Bette gets out of the shower, depressed and alone, to find that her one night stand had awakened and left, and most likely, they would never see each other again. Bette didn’t care, she knew that she was very much still in love with Tina, and that the one night stands and the meaningless ***** was just a sad way of trying to disguise the pain, the void that she felt in her heart for Tina. Bette was taken out of thought when the phone started ringing, she hurried to answer it…
%%%At The Planet%%%
Tina was still in the restroom but she was on her cell phone…who could she be calling, that there was a need for her to remain in the bathroom for privacy?
%%%Bette’s House%%%
Bette answered the phone and was completely shocked, she hadn’t heard from her in so long, she was so surprised, why did she feel the need to call?
