The longest weeks of my life! pt. 1

Dammit I’m so ***** confused! I mean, I really liked Alice and felt that something special could happen between us if we gave in to it, but on the other hand, I was engaged to Tonya. Invitations had already been sent off and the wedding was in a couple short weeks. Besides, I loved Tonya. I mean, she didn’t make me feel the way Alice did, but being with Tonya was in my best interest.

I hated thinking about it because the conclusions I was coming up with were not making me feel any better. Either way, someone would get hurt.

As I walked over to the Planet for some coffee I prayed to God that Alice was not there. As much as I really wanted to see her, I don’t think I could handle seeing her at this moment. When I walked through the planet doors I pleased to just see Shane inside.

“Hey Shane.” I said, sliding down exhausted into a chair.

“Oh hey Dana. Whats going on?” Shane asked, while eating a bagel.

“Oh you know. Just busy planning this wedding.” I said.

“So you’re still gonna go through with it?” a familiar voice asked from behind me. I froze. It was Alice. I turned around slowly and looked up at her. She stood there staring at me with a slightly confused look in her eyes.

“Uh, hey Al. Didn’t know you were here.” I said, shooting Shane a look of death.

Shane threw her hands up, obviously not understanding what was going on, while Alice came and sat down next to me.

“Dane, you’re…you’re not still going on with the wedding are you?” Alice asked.

I glanced at Shane, who was beginning to put two and two together.
“Um, I have to be somewhere.” Shane said, conveniently. Getting up quickly and darting out the door.

I sighed. Now I was all alone and had to face Al by myself. I just hope I had the strength for this.

“Al. I really like you. I always have and probably always will, but I am engaged to Tonya and I’m gonna marry her.” I said, my voice shaking. I could feel a lump growing in my throat and I tried my hardest to keep from crying. It didn’t help as I saw her face at that moment.
