“How about to Bette and Tina – may your love always be stronger than your need for sleep “ Helena said with a laugh.
“I cannot wait to see how Bette deals without her eight hours sleep “ Shane said.
“For your information it’s a long time since I had a full eight hours — two pregnant women in the same bed who are deeply in love and have the desire for one another that we have — not much sleep “
Tina laughed at the look of shock that registered in Shane and Lara’s eyes.
“Oh come on – you really cannot be shocked !! “
“I thought you two were told that Bette couldn’t “ Lara asked
“My blood pressure is good at the moment and every day I count how many times junior moves around – that’s the tell tale sign that I ignored when I collapsed with pre-eclampsia. He was distressed and he wasn’t moving– now I pay attention to how he is and he is thriving “
“Tell them what the Doctor said “ Tina urged
“She was just guessing “ Bette replied
“Bette Porter ! “ Tina exclaimed
“Okay – if I go full term and I don’t have to be induced or anything — he’s going to be a big baby “
“As in over 10lbs ? “ Helena asked smirking
“Yes “
“Can we drop this subject please ? “ Bette said
“Yes honey “ Tina said and spoke to the others “ it’s a very sore point “
“So if it’s a big baby it won’t be the only sore point that Bette will have “ Alice quipped
“I swear Alice that as soon as my son is born I am going to throw you in the ocean — about five miles out with a concrete pair of boots on “ Bette growled
“If he’s that huge Porter you’ll not be able to pick anything heavy up for about six months — by which time you will be in London and I will be safe “
“Alice — Bette never forgives or forgets “ Shane pointed out “I’d say the mark in her black book just went from a pencil entry to one in indelible ink “
Tina caught Helena’s eye and raised her eyebrow at her.
“Actually darling Bette – I have had a super idea “
“What’s that Helena ? “
“Would you mind if I threw you both a baby shower next week at my beach house – as Alice said you will be in London when Tina’s baby is born so we’ll miss that – so – a joint baby shower is a great plan — what do you two think ? “
Tina looked at Bette — she was praying that Bette didn’t guess that all of this was a pre-arranged ploy.
“I would love that so much — thank you very much Helena – what do you think Tina ? “
“ I love the idea — thank you Helena “
“My pleasure darlings — you lot can all attend — say — mm next Tuesday ? “
Tina smiled in gratitude at Helena – she had played that just right to get Bette thinking it was her idea — now she just needed the other three not to blow it – and Alice was a ham
“That’s a great day “ Shane said “ I’m free from about lunchtime “
“I can change my shift “ Lara said smiling
“Alice ? “ Tina said
“Well as long as I haven’t got pneumonia from being forced into your pool I should be able to make it “ Alice said
“Great — baby shower at my place by the beach – kicking off at about 4pm “
Bette got up
“Need the toilet “
They all waited making small talk until she had vanished inside the house.
“This is going to be good “ Shane laughed “Do you think she suspected ? “
“No “ Tina said “She has no idea that by the time her monster son arrives she we will have exchanged vows again “

ALICE SPEECHLESS! AWSOME. ally we miss ya sooo much drink lots of fluids to beat the HEAT.please post soon,maybe the L-WING TOO PLEASE
Alice is lucky that she only fell in the pool and did not have Bette foot up her ass. The baby shower sounds so fun and exciting. It will be interesting to see how Bette reacts to getting hitched again. Hopefully she will go ahead and do it and not turn around and walk out.

I think this time alice went to far with her comment, maybe she didn’t like the baby’s father but Tina is her friend and she must to think in that fact. I know that B&T are trying so hard to go over this and sometimes is difficult but you are doing a really great job

great writing as usual ally; alice needs to be more sensitive and keep her mouth shut; i’d do more than toss her in the pool…a real friend would think b4 they speak…love the other characters…not really wanting b and t to move to london but it’s your story…
Sounds to me like Bette hasn’t quite gotten over how Tina got pregnant and is transferring her anger to Alice. If seems B&T were expecting Alice to react like Alice, so why get angry with her? Why provooke her to make the kind of statement you can predict and then condemn her for it? And why dole out the info in little bits if you know there will be questions and/or assumptions? Actually, in her assumption that Tina was preggers by Henry, she gave Tina more credit than she really deserved. Plus, maybe it isn’t that much fun to always be the butt of the standing joke and end up in the pool every time. True enough that Alice should acquire more tact than the average 8 year old, but my sympathy is with her.
Excellent Chapter, and while I agree with what funnyone is saying or should I say writing, I think that Bette was upset about what ALice said specifically in regards to it being HEnery’s baby. You know the baby will be dumb, BEtte’s will be smart, etc.. AND I think they wanted ALice to get her comments out of the way becuase they were going to tell the girls it wasn’t HEnry’s, right?So anywho…I’m ridiclous today Can’t wait for the next chapter..so TIna is planning a wedding huh? cool!
Man what I read what AL said I was left with a look and the words coming out my mouth that goes along the lines of…..”WTF is wrong with ur mouth girl?” UPDATE SOON, WAS MISSED, ALSO HOW BOUT A CHAPTER OF THE L WING?????
I can see where Alice would think it was Henry’s baby, but what she said about how the baby would turn out was not right. I know they are all like family, but it really isn’t anyone elses business how Tina got pregnant. Bette is the only one that has a right to voice how she feels about that and her and Tina have already talked about it. Everyone should just take a look at how happy Bette and Tina are and be happy for them. I believe everything happens for a reason and you just have to take one day at a time. Ally, you are a great author and this was another one of many in a line of wonderful chapters. Thank you for your stories and always keep writing because you bring so much enjoyment to those of us who read your work.
omg alice had a death wish on her did sheman tht was close call. t is so lucky to have sumone who loves her and protects hr no matter whti love this story so muchpost l wing soon too coz i am missin it

Man that was rough. I was sitting here saying, “Oh shit…OH SHIT.” I expected Alice to either come out of her state of shock and be really thrilled or ask how it happened. I really did not see her outburst coming. I can’t say I’m totally over how it happened, but that was harsh and cold.

For a while there I was get allyemmerson withdrawal pangs b/c you hadn’t posted in your usual pace. But I can understand wanting a break especially when it is so hot. I really enjoy reading this story cuz you have these twists and turns that make it interesting and fun.
WTF ?!? I’m with Alice!!!! The last man that Tina was with, that the “gang” is aware of, is Henry. So how in the hell did Tina think she could announce that she is pregnant and expect everyone, including Alice to ASS-U-ME it’s NOT Henry’s child? I’m sorry, but EVERYONE knows that Alice is not the most tactful person in the world. Tina’s news propelled Alice to become speechless, and they should have left her that way. IMO, they ALL got what they deserved and I feel that it was EXTREMELY unfair for all of them to expect Alice to fake what she really felt. They wanted her to find her voice and be as thrilled as Helena and Shane. If she had opened her mouth with a phony congratulations, would she have really been a FRIEND ???? I think the onus of this snafus belongs on Tina; not Alice !!!!!!!!!

Alice was very harsh and deserved more than falling into a pool, she needed a bitch slap actually. She has a really big mouth and I’m sure it will take Bette longer to forgive Al for this one! Excellent story though, please keep this story and the L wing going! :-)
VERY GOOD chapter Ally. Seeing Alice speechless was PRICELESS, but she was TOTALLY out of line with what she said when she finally spoke. As a friend and family you either supprot the couple or shut up and hope for the best. Even if it was Henry’s child, it is up to B&T if they are willing to accept that and live with it. The fact that they present a united and happy front when they made the announcement indicates that they are happy or atleast at peace with Tina being pregnant and the new addition to their family. You don’t throw the baby out with the bath water Alice. Please continue with this story as well as the L Wing :o)
