    The letter on the subway

"Where are we going?" Bette enquired raising her voice only slightly above a whisper.
"I want to show you my favourite piece in this whole museum" Tina said.
Bette did not move from her spot. The museum was closed to the public and they could not possibly venture further away than the lecture theatre.
Seeing Bette’s hesitation, Tina walked over and grabbed her wrist and pulled her along gently. As they started walking away she moved her hand down to cup Bette’s. She was surprised when she felt how limp her hand was and felt awkward about the situation she had created. They remained silent on their way  to the second floor of the Modern Art section.
Suddenly, Tina felt a slight tug on her hand, she turned slightly to look at Bette and felt her hand change from cupping to interlocking fingers. They did not speak but both felt like they had just experienced the best feeling in the world. They chuckled and were on their way again.
Tina found the piece she was looking for. It was one the the top ten art pieces of the Met’s collection. They stopped in front it and both uttered in unison "Autumn Rhythm".
"You know this piece?" Bette enquired visibly impressed.
"Yeah…it is my favourite" Tina responded almost dreamingly.
They both stood silently in front of the enormous unprimed canvas covered in chaotic paint splatters. Their eyes followed  the pattern of lines that intertwined in one another, black, White, brown and turquoise colours and shades which formed a giant web of colours perfectly balanced.
    "Why is it your favourite….Tina?"
Tina let out a small laugh, "You promise you won’t make fun of me if I tell you."
    Bette nodded.
"You see the way the painting has no central focus and  every inch of its surface seems to have equal importance ….. And all the lines are entwined in a never ending pattern…….. Well…it is a bit like the way you should  love someone …. Whole and forever.."
As she finished her explanation Tina turned her head to look at Bette. Their eyes locked as their faces inextricably inched closer.
The loud crackling sound of a two way radio echoed throughout the gallery startling the two women out of their trance. A security guard on his round appeared in the room.
"Sorry Ladies…but this part of the museum is closed…..I’m going to have to ask you to leave" the guard said with authority.
The two women apologised and made their way back to the lecture theatre. Before they entered the room, Bette held Tina back for a split second and said, "My hand feels like it was made to fit yours."
They had re-entered the room quietly and sat in complete silence until the end of the lecture, their fingers still entwined.
Bette let out a sigh. She had reached the studio. She rang the door bell and was soon invited to make her way up to the loft.
The door was ajar and when she entered, after quietly knocking on the door, she came face to face with Tina. Bette’s confusion was evident but before she had time to speak Tina said.
"Bette, I have something to tell you…"

    1. I hope Bette takes the news well although I don’t doubt that she may feel deceived. This line made me gasp: “Suddenly, Tina felt a slight tug on her hand, she turned slightly to look at Bette and felt her hand change from cupping to interlocking fingers.” I found it so simple yet romantic. Only to find out that I will be romanticized even more in the next page. Your story leaves me in a dreamy state. I loved the way Tina described the painting. Hell, I love this story! :)

    2. That was cruel to leave it there lol, Danette oooo could never imagine that in a million years; the yoghurt thing made me laugh though. How will Bette react? I’m thinking she will feel hurt but then glad its Tina the letter was from on the subway :D can’t wait for more Caramel

    3. God, kins. I loved these last two chapters. I can’t wait to see how Tina’s going to explain things to Bette. I’m glad you’re not planning to drag out things with poor Dana…I can imagine her totally uncomfortable. hahaha. Loved Bette’s line that her hand was made for Tina’s. Swoon…

    4. OMG… Kins40 your writing is so amusing! I love this story! And the way you build up the tender moment is so sweet and romantic :-) looking forward to your next post! PPVS :-) thanks!

    5. So happy that you are not making them or us wait to hear the truth. I love this story. Hope Bette receives well the news she is about to hear. It will be a shocker but the letter will be even more of a shocker and I want her to know it all very quickly, so she can get over the shock and still accept Tina in all her lovliness and independence. Yes, their hands, hearts, bodies, and souls were made for each other. Hope you post the next chapter very quickly. Thanks for posting.

    6. I hope Bette doesn’t freak out when she hears Tina’s confession. She has a tendency to over-react and run off before talking things out. Great chapter. Thanks for posting.

    7. Hi Kins, I am just loving the gentleness romance of this tale as Bette and Tina tiptoe nearer each other. I don’t think Tina will reveal herself just yet. Interesting time ahead. More please. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    8. This is a comment that is for all previous chapters as well. You are fantastic. Lovely story. With hint of Luarel’s current working style.I mean she does paint with loud music playing in background. And the letter and the writing and the romance. I am all dreamy-doe eyed right now. I hope Bette takes the revelation well, and this love story proceeds without a hitch.

    9. “Bette, i have something to tell you..” Now question is Will Bette accept Tina’s explanation or..Bette can’t. Cuz she feels betrayed or..Tina have to question herself “Is this the right thing to do?”….or… …I’M BEING THE WRITER HERE… hehehe!…moving on….. I’ll just have to wait…Be patient…….And I’ll behave..
