The L word: Tina Kennard’s lost background

“Baby girl, this is getting worst and worst…”

“Tell me about it…” Bette said hugging Angie….

    ——————————————–

Tina drew aside the curtain and faced the woman…She was lining up some cards not bothering to look at the people standing in front of her.

“Have a seat Christina!” She said. Tina tuned her face to Victoria who on her turn shrugged her shoulders.

Tina set in front of her and placed her hands at the table. The old woman put aside her cars and looked her in the eyes….

“You have pure sole, but dark nature…My child there are allot of paths in your life, choose one, the bright one, the right one but never the easy one!” The woman took an amulet giving it to her…”This is what are you looking for?”

Tina took the amulet. She was left speechless, but managed to nods.

“Don’t forget. Not the crown makes the queen! Now go, there’s someone who’s waiting for you at home…”

Tina shocked of the trance she was in and raised from her place. She took the amulet and gathered it in her pocket. She hadn’t much talked to the woman, but it looked like it wasn’t needed. Tina rushed into the car speeding back home. She passed few times on red and didn’t stop of few signs but she didn’t care much. Her coal was to reach the house as soon as possible. The words of the old woman were still fresh in her mind. Victoria looked at her pocking her on the shoulder. Tina turns her head for a second.

    “What…?” She asked.

“Slow down…we aren’t immortals you know!” Victoria said pointing at the speed-meter.

Tina shook her head and slowed down. In no time they were to the house. Tina ran inside followed by Victoria. She stopped in her tracks. Bette was sitting in her living room, holding Angie in her arms, and James sitting next to her holding ice on his eye. Bette smiled and stood up, ready to hug Tina, but she stepped back… Bette saw the horror in Tina’s eyes, but had no idea why she was terrified of her.

“T…what’s going on?” Bette asked looking confused. She was moving her eyes from Tina to Victoria. Victoria nudged her sister in the ribs and whispered in her ear.
