    The L Wing – Chapter 13

     

    Narration of Tina Kennard

     

    NEXT MORNING

     

    I swallow a couple of painkillers and wash it down with my third cup of black coffee. I feel like hell on toast. I have been crying nearly all night.

     

     I love Bette and her telling me that our relationship was over had shattered me. All I can hope for now is that she feels as bad as me and we can somehow patch up our problems. I cannot believe that she really wants up to end our relationship.

     

    After she told me that it was over between us I tried to reason with her but she just kept ordering me out of the residence. So I dressed and drove home in tears.

     

    The worst thing is there is no one that I can talk to,  no one I can confide in. At least Bette probably feels as bad as me – she could talk to Lara or Peggy but I doubt it. There’s always Kit but she is in Russia with a trade delegation.

     

     

    I am daydreaming when Josh puts his head around the door.

     

    “Senior staff in five minutes “

     

     

    Damn – I hopewell what do I hope ? that she is as miserable as me – yeah – I hope the President had as bad a night as I did.

     

     

    I follow Carmen into the meeting.

     

    “Hey Tina “

     

    “Hia – anything happening I should know about ?”

     

    “Well according to Shane our fearless leader is in a stinking mood”

     

    which is my fault – at least she must be regretting her tantrum.

     

     

     

    “Are you willing to have a bet on which of us gets the most hassle ?”

     

     

    “Well its usually Alice – she keeps sticking her head over the parapet for the President to take a swipe at “

     

     

    I enter the meeting room and sit beside Carmen – Alice is opposite me beside Dana.

     

    “So – Tina – how’s the love life progressing ?” Alice asks as I look through my notes.

     

    “Hey – you have a love life ?” says Dana – of course she knows I have a love life – Alice has told half of Washington. But I have done Al a disservice – it seems some people don’t know.

    33. Congrulations on your award. Fell behind on the chapters so only now able to comment. I love the story and can’t wait for Bette to realize how much she wants Tina back. When I do get involved with someone I too have a tendency to move too quickly. I do understand how Bette wants everything to go the way she invisions it. Both women need to give in a little to each other and just not their physical needs. This is where Shane would be a big help to both women.

    35. Hey honey, great chapter. Bette is acting like someone else I know, wanting everything to happen between her and Tina right away. She needs to tell herself to slow down. Tina loves her and eventually she will be ready to let the whole world know. I can’t wait for tomorrow night to get here. High 5 on this chapter babe. Love you.

    37. What’s with that funnyone person? Such a smart aleck. Of course Bette’s upset because of the fight. And she was right to order protection for Tina. Bette’s the president and Tina is not only someone she loves but a high ranking member of staff.

    47. I hope Bette had a front row seat when Helena was talking to Tina. President Porter needs to get her attitude in check immediately and I hope Tina makes her aware of it. Nonetheless, this story is amazing!
