    THE L WING

    Chapter 247

    Narration of First Lady Tina Kennard-Porter

     

    First day back at the office after a long Christmas break is always rough right ? You know the emails have virtually blocked up your email system and you are feeling stuffed from far too much turkey, chocolates and alcohol. Well that’s true if you work in a little office somewhere in the mid-west and its true if you are the First Lady of the United States of America and sadly its also true if you are the President. Monday morning -the first one of the New Year and we have woke up to a political crisis – so by 7:30am Bette was already having a shit day. Not made easy by the fact that Ella really doesn’t want both of us to leave her with her nanny team – she howls the place down and I see the look of pain on Bette’s face when she has to hand over Ella to her nanny and go downstairs to her office .

     

    My New Years resolution is to cut down on the caffeine intake so that’s making me grumpy and giving me a headache even before I get to my office. Carmen is there to greet me

     

    “Not a good day “ she says following me into my office

     

    “I know – try being woke up at 6am to this – its going to be a long day “

     

    “What has got into the stupid sod ?”

     

    I sit down and pick up one of the newspapers on my desk. Former Secretary of Labour Andrew Claridge resigned over the weekend and he is now over every headline slamming the “ pink mafia “ that is now running the nation. He lays into the Senior Staff in a fairly personal attack on all of them but he reserves his most thickly laid vitriol for Bette.

     

    “I have no idea – I just know that this is the last thing we should be facing when there is so much else going on . Have you read this ?”

     

    “On the way in I read the attack on Alice and Shane “

    1. Wonderful update, Each person was made fun off. and most was true at sometimes. Love Jackie O but she couldnt hold a candle to our beautiful LH aka Tina. Shane needs help sooner rather than later. thanks

    2. I know that this is a politically incorrect thing to say, but I am crushed that we lost Carmen to a guy! There, I said it!! Shane needs to get help, then she and Carmen need to get back to being a happy family. Oh, and I do love the rest if this story. It can just keep on going indefinitely as far as I am concerned!
