“Okay.” Dana got another kiss and pulled away. “I love you.”

“Love you,” Alice watched Dana jog back over to the court. She shoved her hands in her pockets and walked away.

“Dad never talked about you or Kit. I never knew that you two existed at all. I guess he had another life that he portrayed to have.” Sonja grabbed a hold of her cup and took a drink. “I don’t know why dad would do such a thing.”

“I know why—,” Sonja looked at Bette. “Because his baby girl turned out to be a lesbian, and he turned his back on me. He never liked it when Bette and Tina were around each other. He became disgusted when he would see us together. I just wish that he loved me the way he did when I was younger. I don’t know—,” Bette smiled faintly and sighed.

“Hey,” Bette and Sonja looked up and saw Helena.

“Hello Helena.” Sonja smiled as Helena took a seat next to her.

“Hey,” Helena gave her a peck on the lips, and Bette watched as it went on.

“What’s this?”

“What’s what Bette?”

“This?” Bette pointed at them. “You and her?”

Sonja held up her hand. “Bette—nothing is going on between us.”

“If nothing is going on then why did Helena just kiss you?” Sonja looked down. “Are you two dating?”

“Maybe, maybe not. You’ll never know.” Helena smiled.

“Are you even a—,” Sonja butted in.

“A lesbian?”

“I really wish you wouldn’t cut me off, but yes, a lesbian.”

“I don’t know yet—I’m broadening my horizon.”

Bette rolled her eyes. “All I know is that—don’t do her wrong Helena. She’s a great person.” Sonja smiled.

“I know—I know. I’ve already had that talk with Kit.”

“You had THAT talk with Kit, and now you’re having IT with me. She’s my sister, treat her right.” Bette got up from the table. “I have to go. I’ll give you a call Sonja.”

“Bye Bette.”

Bette smiled softly. “Bye.” She walked away from the table and walked out of the Planet. Kit walked towards the table and watched Bette walk out.

“Did everything go alright?” Sonja nodded.

“Yeah—it went fine.”

“Are you going to be okay?” Carmen touched Shane’s shoulder. Shane turned around and looked at her.

“I don’t know.” She walked away from her. “I don’t know what to do. I haven’t raised a kid before. I don’t know a damn thing about this kid.” She sighed and sat on the edge of the couch. “I’m afraid.” She chuckled. “I haven’t been this scared since I was a little kid.”

“It’s alright to be afraid. There’s nothing wrong with that. I know that you can take care of Shay. You’re the right person to take care of your little brother.”

“Carmen—I’m not ready to take care of anyone’s kids right now. I can barely take care of my damn self.”

“Calm down, you don’t have to get upset about all of this.”

“What if I can’t take care of him? Put him into foster care? I can’t do that to him. I don’t want him to go through what I went through.”

“Just do your best at taking care of him. Everyone isn’t perfect Shane—you can grow from this. I know you’re stronger than this.” Shane took a deep breath and got up.

“I’m tired—I’m ready for bed. I have a lot of things to do in the morning with him. I—can’t even think right now.” Shane looked up at Carmen. “We can talk about this some other time.” She began to walk away from Carmen. “You can take the car and get home tonight. I’ll call you tomorrow.” Carmen shook her head as Shane walked into her bedroom.
