“Ladies, welcome Miss Dana Fairbanks.” Dana smiled as she got up from her chair and walked towards the podium. She waved at everyone and smiled harder. She got up to the podium and shook Bernadette’s hand and took a deep breath.  She looked out at everyone and giggled softly. Helena and Sonja made it back to the table.

“Wow—this is amazing. I really wasn’t expecting this. Umm—first off I want to say thank you so much for this honor. I’m glad that I get this much attention.” The crowd laughed, and Dana looked down. “But on a serious note,” she looked back up. “I had a scare earlier this year with breast cancer. I never thought that it would happen to me, but it can happen to anyone. I did do chemotherapy, but the doctor’s did stop the cancer from spreading. It made me open my eyes and made me think. We’re not going to be here forever and that we should life our lives like we were dying.” Dana wiped the tear from her eye. “I would like to say to my friends, thank you so much for your love and support. I love you guys to death. To my fans: you guys were there with me from the beginning. Thank you also.” The women cheered and screamed. “And last but not least, my partner, my friend, my lover: Alice.” Dana smiled at Alice. “You are an amazing woman, and your friendship and love means everything to me. Even though we’re not perfect, we always fight for each other and always be there for each other. I’m happy that I have you in my life, and I hope we’re together until our last days. I love you.” She blew a kiss at Alice, and Alice blew a kiss back. Tina rubbed Alice’s back and smiled. Alice wiped the tears from her eyes. “Thank you and lets have a great time!” Dana walked away from the podium and walked back to her table. Alice got up from her chair as Dana approached the table. She wrapped her arms around her and held her tight.

“Babe! I love you so much.” Alice kissed her and cupped her face. She pulled away and laid her head against hers. “You are so amazing.”
