The Journey to You – Chapter 21

“Of course… what did you have in mind?”

“Not that apartment, not the rented furniture, not a pool.”

    “Ok…”

“We can have a look at a serviced apartment around here – there’s a few I looked at before I settled on this place. I decided against them because they were out of my budget…but with both of us…”

“I can have a look tomorrow – do you have a list?”

“I think I still have the details… does that sound ok Bette?”

    “It’s sounds perfect babe… Tee, I’m sorry.”

“I know, me too, I shouldn’t have walked out… I just felt like you were taking control and I couldn’t handle it. We only broke up with our exes 2 weeks ago… I still want us to go slow babe, is that ok?”

“I know, I get excited, I like doing things for you, I like that I can… but I understand where you’re coming from. This is new for me Tee…”

“I know. Bette? Thanks for the gesture.”

    “You’re welcome. I don’t like fighting… why can’t we get past that?”

“I shouldn’t have walked out, I’m sorry, I had a shit day, but that’s not excuse, I’m working on it. If we can keep talking to each other, we’ll get through this… I can’t wait to get to LA Bette, I feel like I’m in limbo right now, I think I’m just counting down to that, I’m almost on auto-pilot at the moment, I know I’ve been a bitch to deal with… thank you for putting up with me.” Tina squeezed Bette’s hand

“I love you, Tina Kennard, and I’ll do whatever I can to make this transition painless.”

“You being here is… amazing, these 3 weeks are going to be perfect. I love you baby.”

“So, tomorrow… do you have time to come check out places?”

“I’m happy for you to choose babe… if you have time and you’re ok with that?”

“I have plenty of time, and I’m more than ok with that – can I drop you at work and use the car tomorrow?”

Tina smiled in response, leaning forward to kiss Bette, gently pulling her into the bed.

“Are you hungry?” she murmured into Bette’s mouth.

“Yes.” Bette kissed back, pushing Tina onto her back and placing her body on top of the blonde’s. She moved her kisses down Tina’s neck, her hands sliding under the fabric of the blonde’s shirt, loving the contact with the warmth of Tina’s skin. She felt Tina’s hand run through her hair; the blonde spread her legs, allowing Bette to settle between them. Tina began to lift her hips, slowly grinding into Bette, feeling the tension ebb from her body. Bette lifted Tina’s shirt and replaced her hands with her mouth, eliciting more moans from the blonde.

    1. “Can we compromise?” Finally, a relationship-saver line that they both agreed on. Their relationship so far can be likened to a scary rollercoaster ride. One moment they are at the bottom of the pits, fighting, the next moment they are scaling new heights with their passion. But I have hopes that they’ll make it. I’m pulling for them both that they’ll work on their shortcomings, get to know each other better and love each other deeper. You write scenes “swirling with tension” quite well, tibetteporter. Yeah, brava and thank you! :>

    2. I’m glad Tina was able to talk to Bette and tell her why she got so upset about the apartment. They need to let each other know what is going on in thier heads so they can move forward and not fight so much. Bravo Bette for understanding and compromising. PPS

    3. wow lucky Bette, thank you so much, that was HOT, but Tina needs to be a little easy on Bette, her being defensive is not going to help them move forward into their relationship. Post soon and have a beautiful evening dear.

    4. Well, talking about these things is definitely the key. They both made mistakes, but they resolved them together, which is how it should be. But, there is also nothing wrong with doing sweet things for each other as long as they are both doing them. For Bette, it wasn’t about money, it was about doing something nice for Tina. Instead of getting agry and walking out, she could have said she appreciated it but….and explained her feelings to Bette. It would have been the more mature solution and they would have had the same results.

    5. Tina’s point was valid, but she needs to communicate better. Bette’s gesture was sweet and kind and I am glad she was able to see where Tina was coming from after she talked to her. I hope that they can learn to talk before fighting.

    6. Why didn’t Tina explain her feelings from the get go? She is somewhat of a hothead and a bit immature. Maybe that’s one of the things that Bette loves about her b/c the make-up sex is torrid. PPS.

    7. I seem to be in the minority. Bette’s grand gestures are sweet, but Tina’s point is a valid and important one. She needs to communicate it better – no more walking out – but when someone is working 16 hour days, her nerves will be frayed. That’s just human. Bette is learning, too, that in a relationship big decisions need to be made together – and that’s great. Thanks, TBP. PPS!

    8. I am with banana.. the relationship is still early, these things bound to happen but its great they are resolving their issues through proper communication.

    9. i agree with banana to… still early days and there lots of learning still to be done.. i think it’s great that bette was thinking of tina, but in the beginning they both need to learn to talk…:)PPS

    10. That was so good. I just hope Tina stops walking out and she learns to talk to Bette about what she is feeling and the same goes for Bette. Thanks

    11. Awesome resolution to their latest snafu. Geez, banana… you and I are always on the same page. I totally agree. Communication is the key: stressed, tired, or otherwise. tibetteporter: excellent job, yet again. I can’t believe how excited I get when I see a new chapter of this fic pop up. Keep up the great work and PPS.

    12. THAT was definitely some wonderful make-up sex. These two are struggling to find out who they are in their relationship. It’s going to be a while before they are on more equal footing. I wonder if Tina will keep her apartment in LA or if she will be convinced to move in with Bette. After 3 weeks of living together in SF, I think it will be hard for both of them to return to living in their own places. Wonderful story…PPS!
