“What did you just say” Surely she didn’t say what I think she just said…. did she?.

In 10 years Tina had never felt so uncomfortable and nervous around Bette, she could feel her blush turning a deeper shade of red with each passing second.

“OK Porter don’t get carried away here…..I mean your hot but your no Wonder Woman…I was only trying to help you out….you know so you wouldn’t embarrass yourself tonight….”  Tina was rambling and was glad when Bette interrupted her.

“You would do that for me” she asked softly

Tina swung her legs around and was now sitting on the edge of the bed next to Bette.

“I would do anything for you…you know that”   As hard as she tried Tina couldn’t draw her eyes away from Bette’s lips.  She was shocked when it hit her how badly she wanted to kiss them.

“Ok…I mean I don’t want to make a complete ass of myself do I”  Bette slowly licked her lips and nervously edged a little closer to Tina.

“No…you don’t”  Tina said in no more than a whisper, moving tentatively closer to those lips that where now the only thing in the world that mattered.

“T…..” Bette was completely silenced when she felt the softness of Tina’s lips on hers.

The immediate tingle that was felt by both started in their toes gained in momentum as it passed up and down their spine.

They glided down onto the bed and the moan that escaped from Tina was soft…barely audible and totally unintentional but it was enough to break the spell that they were both currently under and Bette was reluctantly first to draw back and look at Tina.

Tina’s eyes remained closed, her lips still slightly parted, she needed a few more seconds to allow the rush of emotion to settle just a little to allow her head to stop spinning, her heart to stop thumping.

“T..” Bette whispered.

Still with her eyes closed all Tina could manage was

“Ssshhh…..”

Bette couldn’t resist, she wanted more, she needed more.

Most would say a first kiss is the most important, the most memorable, it is the kiss that awakens those emotions that you never knew you had.

However for Bette and Tina the kiss that followed was far more confident, far more poignent, this was the kiss that was born straight from the heart, not from a pretence that it was something else,  This was the kiss that said I felt it and I know you felt it too.  It was more meaningful in every drawn out breath, in every soft moan, in every delicate brush of the others lips.

This was the kiss that would shift their unique and special bond to a whole new level a whole new scary yet wondrous uniting of hearts, of souls….

Neither heard Christopher enter the room.
