“Hi Patty, how are you” she asked with genuine concern.
Patty skipped the normal formalities, deciding it best to say what she had say and deal with whatever response that would muster from her niece.
“He’s dead” Patty blurted, she didn’t have to use any other term, Kit would know exactly who the “He” was. Kit had refused to acknowledge Melvin as her father along time ago.
“I see” Kit responded to the news, her immediate concern not for “That man” as she referred to him if ever her mind betrayed her and he entered her thoughts, their wasn’t a day that had passed since she reluctantly relinquished her rights to the child she gave birth too didn’t enter her thoughts, “Is Elizabeth here yet” she asked closing her eyes, holding her breath as she waited for a response.
“She’s at the house, she arrived last night, Tina is with her”
Kit released the breath she was holding, so close but yet a lifetime apart “That’s good, how is she?” Kit asked, what little she did know of the relationship between that man and the one she only called her daughter during those quiet alone times was that it has been tenuous since the latter had responded with a like or lump it attitude to the formers disapproval of her relationship with the girl next door. Kit couldn’t help but bask in pride when Patty had first disclosed this development, if only she had had the same courage to stand up to him then maybe, just maybe she wouldn’t have had to live off the scraps of information that her dear old aunt provided whenever she could.
“She seems ok, she didn’t want to talk long, understandable I guess” Patty paused for a second she had broached this subject before which had been met with a determined resistance, but now with her brother gone the link to Elizabeth would be reduced to Christmas cards which no doubt would reveal very little information. “Catherine, I have no idea how long she is staying before she heads back to LA, now that he’s gone maybe it’s time to consider contacting her, I don’t know you could say your a long lost sister or something, but I’m not going to around for ever….”

Bette’s got her family, one that loves her. Kit… dunno if she would enhance that family or not. Someone’s going to have to make the first move though… This was a great chapter, skimmer. Thanks for posting. :)
Oh i love alice playing with helena funny, and for bette not sure if she should see kit or not i dont know if i would want too. And Tina in a towel fuck give me that picture any day. Okay get wrking on the next chptr Ha Ha

My dear Skimmy, I loved the chapter. It’s nice to know that Kit and Maxine didn’t completely give up on Bette, and that Kit’s thinking of Bette’s well-being when she refuses to contact her. After all, if Bette hadn’t checked Melvin’s study, she would have never known and it would have been hard to hear the whole thing from Kit. I hope aunt Patty lets Kit know that Bette knows. I’m sure Kit will step up to the plate then. Also, I know I owe you a reply and some thanks, but I’ve been swamped. Thanks, buddy!
