Lara sat at the bar; waiting for Sam who’d called her yesterday, wondering if they could meet at Milk for some pool and then maybe dinner afterwards.  At first she hadn’t been sure if that was what she wanted, but Sam had reassured her that she was just being friendly, and Lara had accepted.  Lara sipped on a drink finishing it and wondered what was keeping her.

“She’s still at work.”  Shane said taking a seat next to her Lara looked up and wondered how she had known what she was thinking.  Lara smiled at Shane finding the rag tag woman rather ***** in that off the cuff way.  The complete opposite of Dana, she pushed away that thought as quickly as it came into her head.

“She called and asked me to come and tell you that she would be late, got caught in some sort of trauma?”  Shane ordered a drink and one for Lara too, being as appealing as she could.

“So how have you been Shane?”  Lara asked smiling seductively.  Shane returned the grin, leaning back and looking at the ***** chef.  She’d noticed Lara the few time’s she’d seen her with Dana, and now that Lara had an interest in Sam; she was that much more appealing to her.  She wasn’t quite sure why, but seeing Sam crying a few days before had sent her into a tale spin.

“Not bad, have some new digs, got a job.  Job sucks but it helps pay the bills, I use to cut hair for 200 bucks a pop, now I’m the shampoo girl.  How’s work for you, get any of those figgy things?”  Lara giggled and knocked back the rest of the drink.

“Actually yes they’re in season now.”  Shane eyed her sexily and asked her if she’d like to play some pool while they waited for Sam.

Sam pulled the blood soaked scrubs off and threw them into the bin, paddling back to her locker and lying down on the cold wood bench in front of it.  Sam was running her hand through her thick hair.
