“Can you please stop
following me Bette?  I saw your car in front of the Center.”  Tina asked in
a dark voice.

            Bette
said nothing, she didn’t know what to say, and finally the words came.

            “I was just…  I just wanted to see you.”  Bette
said her voice filled with emotion.

            “I don’t want anyone
thinking I’m being stalked, so if you could, keep your distance?”  Tina
stated coldly, turning on her heels and walking out of the office, leaving Bette
in silence.

            Kit
was sitting at a table in the lounge area of the Planet.  She was waiting for Francesca;
Ivan had helped her with this plan of hers.  She wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out,
but she sure as ***** was going to try. 
She looked up at the bar, almost getting up to get a drink, but chewing
the gum she had in her mouth a little more venomously.

            “Hello partner.”  Francesca  Kit
could see what Marina
had seen in her, she was sophisticated and gorgeous.
said, pulling up a chair and smiling.

            “Hello Fran.”

            “So my accountant said
you didn’t bring over anything for this months figures, is there a
problem?  Is Marina
raiding the bin again?”  She smiled, and
reached for the books.  Kit
gently put her hand on hers.

            “No.  It’s not Marina
I’m worried about.  I got the numbers
from our friendly IRS agent and I started comparing it with the books I had
here.  Then I started to see a pattern.”  Kit let the
statement hang and Francesca‘s eyes grew cold.  Her jaw was set and her arms crossed.

            “I’m not getting you…  Partner.” 
Kit smiled, she was
enjoying this, and she hoped that she could pull this off.

            “There a two sets of
books.  The one the IRS got and the real
one.  Now I know from my time on the
wrong side of the law that is a no-no. 
In the six years you’ve had the Planet, you’ve hidden over 1 million
dollars, that’s a lot of coffee.”  Kit
grinned, pushing a set of documents towards Francesca.

            “What’s this?”  She shuffled through the pages, her eyes
scanning the words and she snorted.

            “I am not signing over
my half of the Planet to you.”  Fran
grabbed the papers and pushed them back towards Kit.

            “You might want to
look at this then.”  Kit
handed her another set of papers, these were what Ivan
had really helped her with.  Her brother
was a lawyer, and a smart one at that.

            “Those are what the
IRS is going to get, by courier tomorrow morning if you don’t sign that
paper.  It is how you hid over a million
in profits and forged documents for expenses. 
Your expenses while you were away on jobs, very clever of you.  I have all the proof I need.  I think you’d look good in jail house
attire.”  Kit
said with a straight face.

            “You wouldn’t.”  Francesca stated,
clearly frazzled by the threat.

            “Girl, you don’t know
me well enough to say that, try me.  I’ll
be running the Planet one way or the other.” 
Kit handed her a pen, and a
dollar bill.

            “Those are you choices
jail or take what you can get, try me.  I
dare you.”

            Robin
lay in bed with Jenny, holding her close.

            “So are you going to
do anything with the place?  You’ll have
to fix it up if you plan on living here for a while longer.”  Jenny
nodded, not having put much thought into it. 
A real bed, a shower, and a small kitchen might be in order.  She couldn’t expect Tim
to let her continue using his house like her own private hotel room.

            “I guess I’m going to
have too.  Will you help me?”  Jenny
asked, turning over and facing Robin.  The blonde nodded, tracing Jenny‘s
lips with the tip of her finger.

            “Of course I
will.  I know a few people who might help
and they are cheap too.”  Jenny
giggled, feeling comfortable for the first time in a long time.  Comfortable with her life, with her writing,
with work and most of all in her own skin.
