The Chain-Ch. 17
previously…
“Jodi? What are you doing here?” she asked, shocked to see the artist standing on her front step.
She glanced around looking for Jodi’s interpreter. Bette knew how to sign but was not completely fluent.
Jodi smirked, looking the brunette up and down appreciatively. The white bikini could be seen through the thin material, showing off her toned body and luscious breasts. Her brown curls were damp but wild, flowing down her back and around her flawless face.
Bette swallowed, feeling uncomfortable from the artist’s perusal. She raised her eyebrows in question, waiting for Jodi to answer her question.
“I wanted to talk to you. Can I come in?” Jodi asked while signing. “It’s about the show,” she added, reassuring the hesitant brunette.
“Um, sure,” replied Bette, gesturing the artist inside. She closed the door, not seeing the blonde sitting in her car, witnessing the whole thing.
Tina watched them go inside, everything inside of her mind telling her to run. That the risk wasn’t worth it. To protect herself. To stay aloof. To act like she didn’t care. But her heart. Her heart knew that she and Bette had something. That Bette felt it. That what she had just seen was not how it appeared.
The brunette had been clear when Tina had not. And so the blonde waited, the minutes ticking by as she sat and hoped to see the brunette throw the artist out on her ass.
**
Bette closed the door as Jodi glanced around the living room. She turned to face the brunette, her gaze once again lingering a little too long for comfort.
“Jodi, I’m going to go get changed. Please have a seat, and I can answer whatever questions you have regarding your show.” Bette walked toward her bedroom, forgetting to grab her phone from the patio.
**
“You have reached Bette Porter. I’m not…”
Tina tossed her phone on the passenger seat and squinted at the front door. It had been twenty minutes and the blonde’s patience was gone.
“The fuck is Jodi trying to do?” Tina asked aloud to herself. “Well fuck that,” she muttered, grabbing her keys and exiting the car. She walked toward the front door, and knocked, a little louder than she normally would.

Wow! Sad they can’t communicate better. They need to cut the BS and sit down and talk. Thanks, I loved it
A nightmare. Now Bette is insane too.Thank you for the update.PPS
The seeds planted by Alice in head Tina had a nasty result. PPS
you tricked me… first i thought you had given a “set” then she backs down… i don’t blame bette… in fact i’m glad she lied to tina about jodie… let her stew for a while… now bette has to sober up and maybe just maybe they will both meet out of the blue and start all over… be careful with my TIBETE heart… pps
Intense to say the least. Why on earth does Tina dither about her true feelings and skirt around them.Bette told her straight.Well not straight enough cos she lied (thank god that was a lie.Lol never did like Jodi).I do hope Shane will mediate probably between the two of them telling each of them the others true feeling.Let Tibette be joined together and not be put asunder.Great chapter.PPS
Great update I am enjoying the way you are taking the story…Bette really gave it to her….Tina need to get it together….I hope she find out Bette was lying
Thanks for the post. Love it.
Well. I understand that Bette was hurt by Tina’s withdrawal and running away, but I still wish she would have stayed honest about what her intentions and actions were rather than resort to a lie. But then again, in a fight, the things that are said are used to try to hurt the other person as much as you’re hurting. Oh well. We’ll see what heartache comes out of this. Thanks for posting!
WOW wow WOW! I need a bucket of popcorn I feel as though i am watching a movie. My favorite. You can write me a book anytime you feel you need a reader.
I am glad that Bette finally gave Tina an ear full. Although, I do wish she hadn’t lied to her. Communication is the key.
I really like the way Bette let Tina have it! Hate she lied to her though
Whoa! That was an intense chapter.
I do get T&B’s reaction, guess we all do those messed up things. But I really hate Alice. Damn her!:P
what a stab to the heart that lie must have felt. But Tina has also lied to Bette along the way. Ouch, ouch ouch. Anyway, i agree…a lot of push and pull along the way. why didn’t shane tell bette tina’s story about the 2 girls who have clearly fallen in love? that would give bette a clue about tina’s real feelings. I hope Tina can focus a bit more on her work :) very hard when one’s heart is in turmoil.
Thanks for the update. Dear God, what a wreckage alice has made and left in her stupid wake. I just wish they would really talk to each other and stop dancing around what is at the core of all this. Both of them should have blurted out what they were feeling but I know and understand what and why it happened. Hope they can work it out before Bette or Tina finds someone else to take the edge off. As a true TiBette fan I just hate when they won’t talk and can’t get their stuff together. All relationships are fraught with peril each and every day and you have to learn to talk, really talk to each other and not at each other. Hopefully you will let them do that and they will know all the time they’ve wasted. Thanks for posting.
Damn this is sad
