The B Word .Chapter 40
The chapter opens with Maria outside of Madison room at the Malibu Mansion.

Please Madison open the door .just give me five minutes to explain my side.
Maria is pleading

Maria can here the phone ringing in Madisons room.
Hello Madison answers
Are you ready? We are downstairs..A girls voice says
Ill be right down. Madison grabs her bookbag and heads out the door.
Oh please give me a minute Madison Maria says as she grabs a hold of Madisons arms gently.
Maria I dont have the time of day for you right nowbesides I have someone waiting downstairs for me. So please let go of my arm. Madison says coldly.
So your not going to talk to me about this! Maria says in a angry tone.
NO Im not now get out of my way!Madison says as she glares at Maria
Oh I see you can slap me without even knowing what was going on but when I want to talk to you your not available! That is fucked up! Maria said

Kit is coming down the hall and sees Maria MARIA! Kit yells
As she heads toward her in a hasty manner.What are you doing?

Im trying to find out why she slapped the sick out of me last night and now she wont even talk to me! Maria comments angrly.

Just then Bette comes around the corner to get something out of her room she forgot.
Is everything ok? Bette asks As she looks at Maria and Kit.

Maria is just having a little issue here. Kit says
As Madison walks passed themI am meeting someone out front.
Maria just looks down.She doesnt even say anything or look Madisons direction.
All of a sudden her attitude changed because she knew she was getting ready to be double teamed.

In my room now! Bette says as Kit guides Maria into the room
Maria you cant just loose it like thatespecially today with all the camera crews here!
Bette says sternly
Mariawhen your angry like that it is best just not to talk to the personuntil you have cooled down and they want to talk.. Kit says
Maria comments I just wanted her to talk to me She hit me last night I and just wanted to talk todaythen she refused to talk to me because she thought I slept with
Giovanni. But II mean I slept with him but I didnt have ***** with him.!
Mariayou guys dont understand

Girl what do you mean we dont understandlike we have never been in your shoes before.your sister here Bette, Tina slapped her last year. Kit said As Bette rolled her eyes like you didnt need to bring that up.

Im sorry that you two had to intervene. Maria says
We dont mind helping you .I just worry about your quick temper. Bette says
I just dont want you to get yourself in trouble . I have that same temper.

Again Im sorry Bette I know this is your special week. Maria says
Maria you need to learn how to talk to someone about your problemsyou have been through a lot in the last year.especially the shooting ..you know me going to my support groups for AA has helped a lot.. .maybe something like that would help you.
Kit commented.
I think I am going to make an appointment with Dr. Foxworthy for you. You could go the same day I do. Bette added.

OkBette.. Maria says as Kit comes over and gives Maria a big hug
You know we wouldnt say anything if we didnt love you! Kit said
Bette gives them both a huge hug

A couple of media trucks come rolling into the drive way and their crews begin unloading.

Maria, Kit, and Bette go to Shanes room to polish up their make-up.

After Shane finishes their make-up they all head downstairs.
Then Bette goes over to James.

The Good Afternoon- Midday Show is going to be your first interview.
James states to Bette

The crew directs Bette where to sit and they attach a small microphone to her
jacket. We will be starting in less then five minutes.

Tina is holding Anna Bella while Kit and Maria are sitting with her..Tina blows Bette a kiss. Bette mouths thank youand I love you.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman..Im Mark Graham and this is Whitney Vida. Thanks again for joining us this lovely day. Mark says

Today we are filming at the Mansion of Eva Rodriguez in beautiful Malibu, California.
Last night The CAC held its Artist Opening here to displaying the glass artwork with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Later in the show we will be showing you the various pieces and interviewing the artist Toni and Angela. Whitney concludes.

With us this morning is Bette Porter the new director of the CAC. Good Afternoon Bette
Bette how are you after such an exciting night? Mark inquires.

Good Afternoon Mark and Whitney I feel like Im on cloud nineI mean I have my dream job as being named Director of the CAC. Then to have a party and be treated like a princess..It was so remarkableI had to pinch myself this morning.. Bette says as she smiles.

We heard that you also have a new addition to your family.. Whitney announces as she asks Bette.
Yes my partner Tina and I have a baby girl name Anna Bella Bette says as she smiles and points at Tina.
The camera gets a shot of Tina.

I know that age can be difficult.They dont care if you have a ten hour day a head of you.The will still cry and keep you up. Mark adds

We fortunately we have been pretty lucky she is an excellent baby. Bette says

So how was the party last night? Whitney asks Bette
It was wonderful.It was a record number in attendance for a CAC opening artist event. My staff and I are thrilled. Also if it wasnt for my Assistant James I dont think it would have been so fantastic. Bette announces

The couple keep interviewing Bette for another twenty minutes.
They have her walking around and showing them the different pieces.

Maria excuses herself .as she walks back into the mansion and calls Madison on her cell phone.

Hi MadisonI was hoping to talk to youlook Im really sorry for earlier.Please call me.I would love the chance to talk to you. Maria leaves it on her voicemail.

Tina comes into the house to change Anna Bella.Hey Maria Bette is looking for you..
They are ready to do the interview with you and Kit in it. Tina states

OkThanks Tina Maria says as she gives Anna Bella a kiss on the forehead.
Tina.Thanks for being such a great wife to my sister.. Maria says as she takes off to meet Bette.

Tina just smiles. Damn those Porters-Milos have such charm.

Kit and Bette are already positioned in there chairs with their microphones on.
You must be Maria Kevin Cook states Im Kevin Cook from WBNMalibu
His assistant hooks up Marias microphone.

Ladies I will ask you some questions and then you get a chance to respond.
Make sure you talk clearly. Any questions? Kevin asks

No I think we are clear. Bette says
I am following Bettes lead. Kit states
Can I go now? Maria says jokingly as Kit and Bette shoot her a glare.
She has trouble sitting for long period of timesbecause we keep kicking her as
Kit jokes.

Everyone starts laughing at Kits comment.
Ok ladies we are ready to begin Kevin announces

Good Afternoon.Malibu..This is your gossip connection for the west coast!
Today I have the pleasure of interview.Bette Porter the new director of the CAC and her sisters Kit her older sister Yes the singer Kit Porter..Then there little sister who just relocated here from the Midwestwhere she was a TeacherMaria Milo
Kevin states at the crowd cheers.

So lets begin with you Bette. How did you enjoy your first opening as the director of the CAC? Kevin asks
It was the best more joy than I had even anticipated. The art work is breath takingThe back drop of the ocean is spectacularEvas generosity was exceptional to have the event at her house. The whole evening went on without a hitch. Bette shares.

So the evening even included your sister Kit singing. Kevin said as he looked to Kit.
So Kit tell us how it was to be up there againAlso how it was to be singing at an event for your sister who is the director of the CAC.

Kevinit was awesome.I felt like so blessed to have the chance to sing for event that was hosted by the CAC. It was extra special since my sister is the director of the CAC.
I am so proud of her Its quite an accomplishment. Kit states as she smiles proudly at Bette.

So how do you fit in the picture Maria? Kevin asks Maria.
Kit and Bette look at Maria.
I am the youngest out of the girls I am not a director and I am not a singer
However I am very proud of my older sisters. Maria commented.

So how are the three of your related. Kevin asks
Kit jumps right in.Bette and I share the same fatherbut we have different mothers
Where Maria and Bette share the same mother but different dads.

So Maria I hate to bring this up but youre the sister who was shot by Helena Peabody..
correct? Kevin asks.
Yes I was Maria says.
So how are you today? Kevin asks.
Im good still a little sore but Im alive and so is my family. It was just a little price I had to pay. Maria shares.

The break to a commercial..The station plays the film off the police arresting Helena Peabody.

They all look at him and tell him this interview is over. He wasnt suppose tot bring up the shooting.

They unplug there microphones and walk off.
Rolling stone is there to get a picture of Kit.
There are numerous magazines and newspapers
Reporters standing around to get a story or a snap shot of this family.
The got pictures takenThen they all left to go to their rooms for naps.

Bette picked up Anna Bella and grabbed Tinas hand with her other hand and took her
Two favorite ladies up to the room to take a nap.

Kit and Maria each went to there on roomies.

Maria was entering her room when she saw Madison go bye.
Madison didnt even speak to her.
Maria decided maybe she should go to Kits room.

Knock knock.
Come in Kit yelled as she was lying on the bed watching television.
Hey Kit do you mind if I chill in here with you? Maria asks.
No baby girl.I would love the company. Kit said
Thanks Kit Maria says as she shuts the door and jumps on Kits bed.
Just then Marias cell phone was ringing..she answered it..
Hello Maria said.
Look ***** stay away from my girl! the voice said
Who is your girl? Maria replied.
Madison! The voice said.
They hung up.
What was that about Maria? Kit inquired
Just somebody who is trying to get me mad. Maria says as she ignores. The second call.
This time Kit answered it.
Hello Kit said
Oh you better watch your back.because you have been tagged to get your ***** kicked.
The voice said.
Look I am not playing with you.I am her sister and if you call here again I will have the police arrest you for harassment. Kit announces as she hangs up.

I dont think you will have to worry about them calling you anymore. Kit said as she and Maria took a nap.
