“Did your heart get warm?”, the girl finished.

The producer kissed Bette’s daughter forehead with kindness and let her cheek rest a little against the child’s skin. No, she didn’t need time to think about the answer. The blonde didn’t need to scan her memory to say out loud. “No…I never felt …this way before, darling and your mom was the only one who made my heart this warmth.”

“Hmmm…” The girl watched her own hands while she thought about what she just heard.

“And you didn’t tell my mom you love her…?”

“…No…”

“Why?” the red haired girl moved to face the producer. Domina watched Tina’s face contract, like if she was in pain.

“I was confused… So confuse… Very …confuse…Do you know what I mean, Mimi,…?” The sentence came and Tina recalled herself she was talking to a five years old kid.

“Hmmm…Yes…I understand… I got confuse sometimes…”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah…”

“When?”

“When you, grow up people, mess things up really bad and hurt the ones you love…”

They got in silence again.

“Do you have fun with your job?” Domina had been thinking about been a producer those days and she wanted to be sure that the reason why Tina never was around was fun, at least.

“Well, I guess that work is not about having fun…”

“What? Why?” Bette’s daughter was in shock. The wide eyes questioned the blonde. “How can you do something when you don’t like it, for …like…eight or twelve hours a day, like you…” the interrogational face watched Tina in amuse.

“Well, … It’s complicated…But, don’t you worry…You will enjoy the carrier, dear…I like my job, Mimi…I love being a producer…”

“But, you seamed tired with it… annoyed…Is it for the money?”

“Yes, sure. With the money I was able to buy my ranch, my beach house, my apartment, my cars…but, a lot more, Mimi…I’ve had the chance to know incredible places of this planet. Places I would never dream. I’ve had the opportunity to experience and learn, darling. AND…, I just love to make movies, Domina…”

The producer’s smile met Domina´s.

“Oh…ok…I think I would love that also…”But, all of a sudden,  Mimi´s face got serious. “But I want my weekends to relax, meet my family, my friends… it’s so much more fun when you can play with a friend instead of been alone in the playground…Don’t you think, T?”

“I guess…” Tina’s tone was sad.

Silence, once again, felt down between them.

“Do you have friends, Tina?”

“I … No…Hmmm…Maybe one… my secretary, Cassie…”

“What about your mom and dad? Don’t you have a brother or a sister?”, the girl was intrigued.

“Well, yes, I have, but…We’re not closer… We don’t talk much…”

The answer was inconclusive to Domina. It was written on her face.  “Ok, …The truth is that we don’t get along very well, Mimi…”

“What about Christmas? And Thanksgiving Day?” The curled haired girl was surprised.

“Usually, I am working or traveling…Sometimes I went to Cassie´s house…”

 Oh…”and Mimi silenced for some seconds.

“Your life seamed pretty lonely, hn, T?”

“Yeah…But…I have the movie industry, Domina…”

Mimi’s face was an interrogation, that’s why the producer explained: “I don’t have friends, but I have my job, Domina…I love my job…”

“Oh…” was the freckled girls´ answer.

Silence filled the bathroom once more.

“But the…the movie industry, she…I mean…it… didn’t help you when you got sick, did it?”

“…No…”

“Hmmm…”

There were no words between them.

Domina was sad for her friend. The woman kneeled in front of her was really confused and she had to give her opinion. “That’s what friends do!”, her mother always told her.“Sorry to tell you this, but…You are wrong, Tina…I mean…I guess…we should LOVE people and ENJOY jobs…”

Her blushed cheeks, her candid eyes watched the executive carefully.

“…And that’s because, maybe, you should think really, really hard about what you call love, Tina…”

It was Domina´s advice delivered with pure sweetness and naïveness.

Tina not only loved Bette, she finally admitted and understood.

She also loved Domina.
