Dana pulled up to the curb in front of the planet. She dashed out of her car and ran to the front door of the Planet. She turned way and ran back to her car, shoving change in the meter.
Kit brought over a couple of shots of her new frozen coffee drink to Shane and Alice who had their heads together viewing some clips on youtube.
“All right girls, tell me what you think of this."
“Kit, that’s so not my thing,” Shane said.
“Just try it,” Alice said as she gobbled down her fauxpacino. “Pretty damn good.” Alice took the cup from Shane’s hand and was about to drink when Dana came barreling towards the table.
“Guess what happened?” Dana asked the trio.
“You got the gig on The Tennis Channel,” Shane said.
Dana shook her head, "Uh, uh I haven’t heard yet…but this is good too,” Dana said and continued to wait for an answer.
“You’re getting married,” Alice said with fake glee.
“No,” Dana made a face at Alice then turned to Kit and waited.
“I don’t know girl just tell us.
“I just came from my agent and I’ve been asked to be on The Amazing Race.”
What’s that?” Kit asked.
“It’s a show where couples travel around the world performing crazy tasks trying to beat out the others for a million bucks,” Alice said with great enthusiasm revealing herself to be quite a fan.
“What a minute, I can’t lose Lara for however long it takes you guys to race around the world.”
“Well, actually Lara’s not going to go,” Dana said. “Teams don’t have to be romantic couples, just two people.”
“How come you’re not going with Lara?” Alice asked.
“We talked about it and with all the problems we had the past year it might not be that good for us to do it together…on camera.”
Shane snickered.
“Every team has some tense moments. It can be tough on relationships; some use it to see if they belong together. I wouldn’t mind something like that for us but not in front of millions of viewers.
Shane snickered again.
Alice shook her head in Shane’s direction. “You’re going with Howie, right, gay brother and sister team.” Alice said. “I’m sure the producers would love it.”

oooo, i love it! gripping and it’s just a two pager! will they or won’t they, and i love your jealous lara…worried lara, whichever…fantastic start! alice would be a hoot in such an event.
awwww, cute! This is such a good premise.
Oh I just have to add, about the title…throughout the story I was picturing a breakfast pastry in a cape. But totally in a good way.
The title itself made me smile already. I believe that you are going to give us a hell of an “amazing” time. Really looking forward to your story. pps
