    In the elevator we held hands up to the 19th floor. We just kept glancing back and forth at each other, smiling, flirting, approving. She winked at me. I winked back. There were other people in the elevator and if they looked, they knew damn well we were in love.

    PART TWO: NEW HAVEN, CONNETICUT

    Chapter 3

    Bette insisted that we dress up for dinner. She said she and her father had eaten many times at John Davenport’s Top of the Park Restaurant, the crown of the Omni Hotel and that it was very upscale and sophisticated.

    After another shower, we took our time with our hair and make-up, doing each other‘s for a change which we found very intimate in a different kind of way. I fixed her hair with the curling iron, the way I like it best, dropping in soft curls around her face. She fluffed up my hair so that it was more pouf than I was used to but she said she liked it so that was okay with me.

    We always had our nails done but we decided to freshen them up. She did mine and I did hers. We nipped, pushed, clipped, filed, buffed and painted them a pastel beige. Then she thought we should do our toe nails too. It made us smile a lot as we did each others, going through the same process as with our finger nails, finishing off with the beige color. It was rather amusing though because later we put heels on anyway that hid the feet but it was fun while it lasted.

    I wore my favorite Maggy London cocktail dress. It was a champagne hue made of a silk chiffon with a halter top. I especially loved the delicate antique inspired brooch that accented the ruched waistband. It was a good touch.

    Bette zipped up the back of my dress for me and kissed my bare shoulders.

    She looked absolutely divine in an Adrianna Papill print v-neck dress, with narrow shoulder straps. The background was black with splashes of red and white. The silk fabric clung to her shape, showing off the contours of her body.

    There was a bow in the back which I tied for her and let the ends fall gracefully down several inches. Below the knot of the bow was a lovely space of bare skin. So, whether she was coming or going, there was no doubt in my mind that heads would turn no matter how rich and erudite the restaurant’s clientele was.

    3. A delicious chapter it is! :-) Thanks for the update, I always enjoy reading all those intimate and romantic interaction between B & S. A tatoo on their abodmen sounds like a risky idea, but this is the adventure story, so I don’t mind them going for it!

    4. Bette’s Babe, Yes, there was a lot of intimate interaction between our girls in this chapter, even without them going to bed together. I’m glad you get it. I’m happy that you can see that those little togetherness things are important too. And you also understand that this is an Adventure Story. They will be doing a lot together and I have my favorites. Researching the tattoo chapter was exceptionally fascinating for me. Thank God for Ms. Google!

    10. bombastic bully, I will do better when this week is over. It has been a “batch”, to quote Gummy Bear. I think she said that once. Back to the chapter, yes, a tattoo. When I posted this chapter on TLW message board in 2007, I had a lot of protests about the tattoo. This crowd seems to be more tolerant. And you even think it’s “sweet”! Where were you guys when I needed you?
