    Chapter 27

Bette reached Tina’s place in no time surprised she didn’t get a speeding ticket. She rang the security buzzard.

Tina was finishing up on some paper work when she heard the security buzzard ring.

Tina saw Bette and smiled. Tina buzzed her in without saying a word, she unlocked her door and left it slightly ajar. She walked over to the kitchen and poured herself more wine, she really needed to relax.

    “T?”

Bette saw Tina leaning against the counter holding a glass of wine in her hand, Bette placed her purse on the couch and stood there looking at Tina.

“Look, Bette I don’t want to argue anymore if that’s what you came here to do you might as well leave right now, we can talk when I get back. I’m really not in the mood right now” Tina said looking right at Bette

Bette slowly walked over to Tina, took the wine glass out of her hand and placed it on the counter behind Tina Bette placed her hand on either side of Tina’s face and caressed Tina cheeks with her thumbs, as she looked into her eyes.

    “I love you” Bette whispered

Tina took in a deep breath as her eyes started to well up with tears. Tina opened her mouth as if to say something, but Bette stopped her by placing a finger over Tina’s parted lips.

“Let me finish because if you don’t, I won’t have the courage to say what I want to say, what I need to say”

Tina nodded afraid to make a sound, she didn’t want Bette to stop.

“Tina, I’m not very good at relationships I’ve only really had one long term relationship, and that ended bad, it started bad to begin with.  I thought I was in love, I was young and naïve and so, so, stupid I thought this person was the love of my life my soul mate.” Bette paused

“I was wrong, I was so wrong. You changed my life Tina, you taught me how to love again it wasn’t until I met you that the walls I had built around my heart started to crumble I’m sorry it took so long for me to realize just how much I love and care for you.”
