    Chapter 13

    Bette watched as Helena walked back to Tina and her friends, Helena handed Tina her drink and joined the conversation the group was having, Bette suddenly felt alone an outsider at her own party, frustrated she started to aimlessly walk around the party in no particular direction she just needed to step away from Tina and gather her thoughts.

    Tina was pretending to engage in the conversation with her friends, she saw what appeared to be an intense interaction between Helena and Bette at the bar, she wondered what they were discussing and judging from Bette’s demeanor Tina surmised it was a conversation that bothered Bette.

    Tina watched as Helena walked toward her and her friends Helena had a smirk on her face when she handed Tina her drink. The girls let out a laugh.

    “Did I miss anything?” Helena asked

    “No, we were just remembering Tina back in her shoulder pad days” Alice replied

    “Oh, yes I do remember shaking my head at Tina during our first meeting, at the studio she was rather homely looking wasn’t she?” Helena commented “But…..even then I saw how beautiful Tina truly was” Helena said while looking intently at Tina.

    Tina felt the heat rise to her face she gave a quick look toward Helena and took a sip of her wine.

    Shane looked at Alice with a raised brow, and Alice looked at Kit with a questioning look. Kit knew Bette felt something more than a friendship toward Tina Bette was just to stubborn  to do something about it, Kit liked Tina and she wasn’t  going to let Bette give up so easily. 

    Kit didn’t know what type of relationship Tina and Helena had, Tina had only let Kit know there relationship was strictly work related, but the comments Helena made and the looks she gave Tina when she thought no one was looking told Kit Miss. Helena Peabody was interested in more than a working relationship with Tina.

    Kit decided then and there she was gonna have to knock her baby sis upside the head and make her realize Tina wasn’t going to stay single for too long. Helena was attractive, smart, and wealthy and she struck Kit as someone who always got what she wanted and at the time what she wanted was Tina.
