The shining light creeping through the hotel window made her aware of the morning’s arrival. It had been a long night…, tossing and turning, unable to settle when sleep was all she wanted and desperately needed…
She had left Bette’s house with a shattered heart… She had never believed in the saying ‘I felt like dying’…, it always seemed such an exaggeration, but not this time…, this time she literally felt like her life blood had been sucked right out of her…
She and Bette had met in New York almost a year ago…, both feeling an instant yet surprising connection. After a few months of friendship, as many dates as their circumstances allowed and the feelings that had built during that time they shared, they decided to become exclusive.
Now, six months later they were happier than ever…, living apart was not a problem for them, they made it work and always found a way to meet and spend time together.
Both of their jobs required for them to travel to each other’s cities on a regular basis, therefore they were able to get together every two weeks…, and sometimes even once a week.
They had finally fallen in love…, however, both were at the peak of their career. Consequently neither was quite ready to make a massive change while their relationship worked as it did at the moment, why mend something that isn’t even broken. They passed over the conversation once in a while and though they agreed to talk about it sometime in the future, the matter was still in the air.
Tina had just received a promotion the prior month, she was now the Director of the Development Department at her studio. Bette’s gallery was booming. Her last show brought in a huge amount of business and there were now artists lining up with the interest in Bette Porter being responsible for showing their work.
Faith had suddenly made a turn and came knocking on Tina’s door… The studio needed someone with her talent and expertise in the LA office and without a second thought, they had offered her the position. To say she was thrilled was an understatement…, she could move to LA…, she could be with Bette, they could be together and her career would be unaffected.

Hey there my friend! I was surprised to get the Crackberry message that you had posted, but it was well worth the wait and I loved it. There are certainly times where one-off stories get the juices flowing, and I hope that is the case for your other story, because I am eagerly anticipating your return to it (no pressure….yet). Great job Hun and keep it up!
Now who could possibly look into those beautiful brown eyes and say, no? Tina obviously made the right choice. Such a heart-warming and cleverly written one-out! I hope we see another one soon – and I have to add my voice to the others requesting another chapter of TST — I’m really missing that story!
