    Soul Mates – Chapter 2

She tried to mask her happiness, thinking back at how much she hated how Tina spoke earlier that morning. There was no hint of her accent and that had deeply saddened Bette, afraid that maybe the country girl she was in love with was gone forever.

As she made her way into the living room, she brought the bottle to her lips but froze in place as her eyes caught onto something hanging on the wall. She couldn’t move but her eyes scanned the entire area, widening with the more ground they covered. Her couches were new . .  and very ugly might she add, her beautifully woven rug was replaced with some tacky thing that looked like it came straight out of a kindergarten classroom, her priceless paintings and photos were taken down only to be switched with frame after frame of poorly drawn cartoons and anything basically mocking art. The artistic way she had originally designed her living room was no more. It was a nightmare.

"Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I used some of the money from our joint account ya know, cause we’re married and all, and used it to buy some nice things for the house. You should see your bed, you can actually get a good nights rest now without having to worry you’re going to stab yourself with a spring"

Bette felt her blood run cold, she was still unable to move from the way she had been standing for what seemed like an eternity. Her arm was still raised with the beer bottle just a few inches away from her lips.

"How much is some?" She rasped, afraid of the answer.

"Actually, it was more like . . all of it" Tina replied simply as the bottle slipped from Bette’s hands and crashed onto the floor.

Bette felt her heart stop beating. She didn’t have to put her hand on her chest either. If she had to bet anyone a million dollars, she would and win. She was dead, hands down.

Without a word, Bette walked toward a cabinet in the living room and grabbed a bottle of scotch. She didn’t use a glass, just tilted her head back and downed some of the bitter liquid. It burned as it went down her throat, she welcomed the burn.

    1. Hey doll!!!! Awesome update as usual. I’m happy to read that you’re using other villains from the show. I couldn’t stand Adele the most. Maybe Adele could have a part-time job as a poop-scooper for a pig farm or something. Anyway, I wasnt confused by anything. I am like that dog who is just happy to see you when you get home regardless of whether you’re screaming at them to get away. Attention to happiness 😍 thanks Liah!!! Have fun at your quin-I don’t know how to spell it. Make sure you dance with Jane 😝

    2. Hey, despite your long and pretty frequent posts, its never enough for me! I’ve checked a few times today to see if you have posted the next chapter, but alas, not yet…please don’t leave me hanging long. Love the premise and the way you write them. Great story telling, with very believable characters. Lots more please. x

    3. More power to Bette for seeing her “old” Tina in the “new” one, cuz I’d be runnin’ for the hills to get away from her. Yeesh. (Never saw the movie, but I know the premise from friends who did.) You’re making it an entertainingly bumpy ride!

    4. +Loved the chapter. Damn, they still love and want each other very much. Tina knopws she wants Bette and not Helena. Hell, she cringes every time Helena touches her. What more does she need to convince her? To hell with what her parents want, the heart wants what it wants. And that is Bette. Whatever happened to the board they had shells on, did Bette keep it? Thanks for posting.

    5. By some strange coincidence on the day that you posted this chapter, I was at the library returning some dvds and hadn’t planned on getting any to take, but just out of curiousity went down the aisles to see what was on display. And what did I see front and center? You got it, “Sweet Home Alabama.” Since you first posted your story I’d been wanting to watch the movie again. Thx for this latest…I’m curious to find out what you have B doing that’s earned her SO much money!
