    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

     

    Chapter Seven

     

    Bette walked into The Planet on Saturday morning to have breakfast. She had been tempted to go to the diner where she had been the Saturday before with Tina – but she had resisted. The blonde was working from home for a few hours that morning so Bette was planning a little surprise at lunchtime for her girlfriend. Bette was lost in how much she was enjoying spending time with Tina – they clicked. Tina challenged Bette to think – she was always asking intelligent questions about art and culture . Bette knew the answers to some but with others she was stumped which demanded that she research and consider further things that Tina quizzed her about. It was a two way thing – Tina was incredibly knowledgeable about movies and books – they had spent an hour the night before discussing lesbian fiction with both of them recommending books for the other. Bette knew deep down that she was hooked. The only problem that she perceived was keeping things private until they had the time and space to develop their relationship.

    Hey Bette “

     

     

    Bette looked round to see Shane sitting at a corner table -she was sipping a cup of her mud thick coffee. Even Bette couldn’t drink that

     

    “Want to join me ?”

     

    “Sure – want a coffee – I am just about to order “

     

    “Another coffee please “

     

    Bette nodded trying not to think too deeply about how her young friend could function after a few cups of that stuff. She placed her order and sat down

     

    “What are you up to ?” Bette asked

     

    “Recovering from last night “

     

    “Hot or heavy or both ?”

     

    “Both – tequila slammers were consumed by the small barrel full “

    Bette laughed “ Classic stuff – how’s Alice ?”

    “Ill “

     

    “That’s what I like to hear “

     

    “She is “ Shane paused “ Its getting under her skin that you haven’t been around “

     

    “I have more friends in my life bar Alice “

    “I have told her that “

     

    “And does she believe you ?”

    1. Bette is in love with Tina so she will wait as long as it takes for Tina to be ready. I have a feeling movie night is going to turn into first kiss night :) and I hope Helena and Alice don’t make it to difficult for the couple to move forward in thier relationship.     10. Bette has a bleeding reputation? I didn’t know she was a hemophiliac. This one must be set a bit in the past, nowadays we make sexual predators register with the authorities. No wonder Tina is hesitating. Sounds like the movies and popcorn date could be a first for them both. Bette brings a date to her place and maybe, just maybe Tina gets past 1st base. Liked the ‘twigged’ bit, hadn’t heard that one before.
