CHAPTER 34
Bette was very interested to see what the infamous Eric looked like.
“Which one is he ?”
“Dark hair and white shirt “ Tina said
Bette turned and took Tina’s last lover in with one long gaze. He walked to a table several feet away from their table. He sat down and was quickly being told what he had missed – he looked across and saw Tina looking at a brunette who was looking at him.
“What’s he doing ?”
“Looking sick “ Lara said chuckling “Oh please make him come over here and try to be funny “
“He does look like he thinks his pals are winding him up “ Henry confirmed
Tina was looking at Bette – she was nervous about this all of a sudden. Eric could really spoil things – but Bette was looking so sexy and composed that it did settle her nerves.
“I wish he would just come and say whatever he is going to say “ Tina said
“Did you find Tina impatient ? “ Bette asked Henry smiling
Henry laughed “ Yes – likes her own way as well “
“Tina usually gets her own way “ Bette replied “ I am a pussy cat “
Tina snorted and slapped Bette good naturedly “ No one – but no one who knows you believes
that remark “
Bette laughed and took another drink of her wine
“Are you seeing anyone Lara ?”
“No – alone and loveless. Just me and my cat “
“Don’t believe her Bette – she’s fighting them off “
Lara shrugged “ Not as fast a mover as you boss “
“That’s why I am the boss “ Tina replied “Now what is he doing ?”
“He’s gone to the bar – he is looking at the two of us like we are a couple of very suspicious characters “
“He would know “ Tina said
“Will you relax “ Bette said taking hold of her lover’s hand and moving closer
“This is your big night remember – there is nothing that he can do to hurt you. You are immune to him and you are leaving him behind in more ways that one “

AllyE, that was a wonderful update. I love alpha Tina an she reacted very well to Eric but I just know he will try something ugly. But as she told him, “she is his BOSS and she can fire him. When he does whatever it is he is thinking, she should fire him immediately, no second chance, no second thought. Aaron may also have to have a hand in the firing and treat him just as he has Shana. Eric is bringing all this on himself and he deserves any treatment he will get. PPS

Great post Ally. I agree with you about the clothes, can’t understand why they do that to two such beautiful people. Also about Shane, it ceases to be amusing, I have always liked her. And yeah, Helena!!!!

Allye, I’m glad Tina stood up to Eric in front of Bette. I can’t wait for them to get home and have their own private party. I have to say alpha-ness is a turn on for me as well. As for the wardrobes on the show…I actually liked a few suits Bette wore this season…I agree with you on Tina’s shirt…you say you don’t like Shane, I don’t care for Alice. How can you cause someone to give up their military career for a civilian life with you, then turn around and entertain hooking up with someone else. I lost a lot of respect for Alice and a little more disrespect for Shane this year. It’s definitely time to grow up!
I am now back and caught up. As you know, I’ve always held that the costuming on the show has always been hideous. I will never get over that ugly-ass blouse they made Bette wear way back in S2(?) when she went to schmooze Peggy in NYC for funding. Perfect for the middle aged secretary who commutes to Manhattan from New Jersey. Why in God’s name is that the only thing that IC has been consistent about through the years? Anyway, I’m completely baffled as to why you’ve chosen to give the main moneybags a Manx surname. Since when have the Manx had money or power? No really, I want to know!

Hello Ally, I am so sorry I missed out recently… life has been throwing me loops and well I have just recently started to really catch up… I am just sorry I wasn’t there to offer you my support… but you are back stronger than ever… well you were always strong :P… I love this story… how Tina can find her strength especially when she is surrounded by such amazing friends… and of course Bette… though I do think Eric might just have one over on her… but not for long… bring on the drama… once again I am saddened and sorry I wasn’t here to help you through your hardship… love and hugs, JC

Ally, I said that same thing about Tina’s top. I looked like a table cloth or curtain with holes in the top. I think ever since Bette became the dean, they have been dressing her like granny. Shane is a slut with no conscience and i think that she is just another example of the lack of creativity on the show.It was nice to see Eric finally get told off by Tina. Bette is so turned on by Alpha Tina right now. can’t wait until they get home!
Whoo-hoo, I think Eric should keep his head down and mouth shut because Tina dressed him down like the true superior she is. I love Alpha Tina! This chapter had so many great moments, Henry and Bette’s conversation was awesome…as I already mentioned Tina taking Eric down a peg was PERFECTION…and the love and support between Bette and Tina is just wonderful. You are doing a marvelous job and I can’t wait to read more. (side not) I am with you sometimes I just sit and wonder what the hell who choose those clothes, but hey I am just a girl from the sticks. LOL! On the Shane front, Shane disappoints me and her complete downward spiral again is devastating. I am not sure if they are going to redeem her or just destroy her character in the final season (I hope there can be redemption).
Ally i agree with ya on tina’s top, aweful!! my aunt dresses better than they dress dean porter do they really expect us to believe this how bette porter would really dress if she shopped for herself? i don’t think so!! great update love how tina handles eric… some how i don’t tina has heard the last of eric’s moaning. he is going to make her life hell whenever he can!! but she knows his tricks all she has to do is catch him!!!maybe tina can hook lara and dana???? :)
Boy Ally, you are right on the money with your wishes for S6. I can’t believe that the Cynthia Summers, who dressed Bette in S1 is the same Cynthia Summers dressing her for S4 and 5. Great chapter, loved the way she “took care” of Eric and what a great guy Henry is. Can’t wait for what happens next!

ok in reply to the dress stuff. The floral long top with holes in it that T wore I actually liked. Yeah some of Bette’s clothes are so aging when she is such a sexy mama!!! Bette’s dress for the dance while I liked the front there was just something not right about the style for Bette. Why they dressed Alice & that woman she flirted with a like was too emphasize their similarity as opposed to her and Tasha’s differences which is why I think they kinda dressed T & B alike in the ‘dance’, & at the party that B spun out at. I think they are once again heavily too heavily making a point, the point about sharing ‘core values’ but then why have Jodi ‘mock’ that very theme??? I dunno. Sometimes I wonder what they’re smoking. Lol. And yeah I don’t get Shane either. Repetitiously Boring! Boring! Boring! But I have an ex who is similarly boring so guess every group has one. How Shane gets to be Yoda is a contradiction I can’t figure. But there are those who love her. Phylis was right to play the mama Lion & tell it like it is! As someone commented on a chapter of my story that she’d do Shane damage if she fycked her daughter over. I have to agree. As Phylis said: Most of us have some modicum of self-knowledge but Shane??? has advice for everyone else while she screws around and breaks hearts from s1-5. Ok I had my say, I better go read the story.
oh yeah, i’ve never seen Helena with a bad look, the jeans and hippy shirt were excellent, love the hair…love Rachel!!!
