SOMETHING SO RIGHT
Chapter 33
Tina knew that she was cutting it fine but she wanted everything out of her inbox by the end of the day. She had arrived at work at 6:55 and had worked through lunch. Now it was 4:30 and it looked like she was going to be out of the office – her final day in this office and at this grade. Monday morning and she would be pulling up her car into a reserved space, she would be a senior executive – phew.
She was so pleased and what made it so great was that she was sharing the experience with Bette – her beloved Bette Porter. The woman who had helped her come out and the woman who was teaching how amazing two women could be – she knew she had found her happiness.
Tina took an apple from her bag and started reading the report that she has been ignoring for several days. She was nearly at the end of it when the door opened and someone coughed – Tina knew that cough
“Eric “
“I thought you would be off making yourself look beautiful – not that it would take that long of course as – well – you know “
Tina looked up – she really didn’t want Eric to be nice to her at the moment
“I could ask you why you are not off making yourself look irresistible to all the women there tonight “
He grinned sheepishly “ Eh – I wanted to ask you something “
“Sure “
“I know that I have been a bit of an idiot lately “
“Really ?”
“Its nothing personal “
“So stitching me up in the meeting with Henry wasn’t personal – nor was the stopping by and gloating ?”
He looked down to his feet and looked up again
“Its complicated “
Tina really didn’t want to hear anything complicated – especially his version of complicated. She bite into her apple and looked at him – how had he EVER aroused her ?
“Eric – I really want to be out of here by 5. The party starts at 8 and I do need to get a shower and get changed “

Another home run for this story Ally! However, it is about this obsession that all you authors have with cliff hangers…I want….no need to know what Eric’s reaction to that kiss was!

What a cliff hanger. The moment we have all been waiting for.. I hope that Henry finds someone nice. He sounds like a great guy in this story. This is a big night for Tina..and I love how she and Bette have handled themselves thus far. PPS.
