CHAPTER 162

　

“I was not asleep ! “ Helena objected.

Bette, Shane and Tina were all laughing at their friend. They were all sitting around in the coffee shop of the hotel. Shane had shown up an hour ago showered, changed and not looking anything like a woman who had been having lots of sex with a stripper the night before. Helena in comparison looked rough and in a lull in conversation it had become obvious that she was asleep. It had obviously just been a brief few minutes because she had opened her eyes to find the other three watching her with amusement.

“Your eyes were momentary too heavy to stay open “ Shane said grinning

“Oh you shut up “ Helena snapped back

“Its that the sort of wit that you get with an expensive education ?” Shane asked

“That’s as good as she gets “ Tina agreed

“What the hell is it with the picking on Helena ?”

“Passes the time “ Bette replied sipping her coffee

“Well go and play some slot machines or something – there has to be better things to do in Vegas than ganging up on me “

“True but  Alice is not here so you are next cab off the rank and we like picking on you” Tina retorted

“The three of you can bloody well walk back to LA “

“Ah Helena – you know we don’t mean it – we love you and we are showing it by teasing you “ Tina hugged Helena who brushed her off

“You are insufferable when you have been laid you know that Kennard ?”

“If that was the case I will have been insufferable for three years “ Tina retorted

Bette and Shane were laughing

“Come on kids – keep it friendly – you are just grumpy because you are tired – why don’t you go back to the apartment and have a nap “

“I don’t want to – this is Vegas – we should be out shopping “

“We are going shopping later “ Bette said

“Good – what are you looking for ?”

“Wedding rings “ Tina said

Helena raised an eyebrow “The two of you are getting married in a few hours short of 2 weeks and you have no rings ?”
