She knows she needs to hang up the phone. She knows that in two hours she needs to be at the gallery. Yet somehow she couldn’t quite find the justification to stop talking to Tina.
“You know I only have an hour before I have to get ready for work. At this point I will never be able to get to sleep.”
“You have to work today?” gasps Tina. “I am so sorry I kept you up all night.”
“Don’t be, I am not sorry. This was the most fun I have had in awhile.”
“Me too,” Tina admits softly.
“Are you blushing again?”
“No,” Tina said without conviction.
“How come I don’t believe you?” Bette smiles ear to ear.
“Maybe because I am lying.”
Bette chuckles, she loves the coy voice Tina responses in. “I think” Bette hears a sudden cacophony on Tina’s end of the line. “What is that?”
“That is my alarm.”
Bette laughs, “It sounds like Duran Duran.”
“It is.”
“Oh no, this is horrible. Please tell me that is the radio and not a CD.”
“Why?” Tina asks defensively.
“Oh no, it is a CD. I thought we were going to have this wonderful relationship,” Bette pauses slightly before changing her word choice, “friendship but now I have doubts.”
“You don’t like Duran Duran?”
Bette scrunches her nose, “Ewww. No. I can’t believe you do! I thought you were so level headed.”
“You really shouldn’t be so judgmental, it is unattractive.”
Bette laughs, “Oh, I would never want to be unattractive.” She almost adds to you but thinks better of it. “Is there anymore dark secrets I should know about?”
“Maybe there is one more,” Tina pauses for dramatic effect. “I have recently found myself in an interesting position. I have _______. I don’t know what to do about it. Can you help me ______? Bette, I really need ______.”
“What? Tina I didn’t catch that. Say it again, please.” Bette leans forward as if that will help her hear. Tina sounds serious, Bette’s heart jumps up into her throat making it difficult to take calming breaths.

That was really sweet&hot too.Why can’t the real thing be like this…the real thing being Tibette. ;)
Well this short story was just too cute! Yes, I’m a sucker for cuteness. You definitely fooled me with the “Let’s do it” comment. Then I felt like a bonehead because I didn’t realize “window shopping” meant just that and wasn’t a euphemism for anything. lol
we have hope with you. Please give us another amazing story…soon. thanks!
Full of art you are, v.
Brilliant, Brilliant, BrilliantI am so captured by this whole concept with the IMs. I love your Bette taking charge and going after it. The way she just knew it was Tina also was fate. Soul mate kind of stuff. Great

love.
That was a great short story – so often the longer ones are just too intimidating for me to start. Thanks for taking the time to come up with such an innovative idea. Look forward to more.
I went back and read the first chapter again before I read the final one. This story was just beautiful and gives me faith that when two people really love each other they can make a life together. I hope you can get back to your other story at some point soon. See I’m back to bugging you about your writing.
Val,that was just perfect!
Lordy Be! That was just so beautifully written that I could feel all of the emotions that were past from woman to woman. Just like ally said you should be on the writing team for the L word.
Take a bow. That was amazing!
