Alexa took shuffled in her seat on her BA flight to L.A from Mallorca.  She wondered if she was doing the right thing but Rachel had actually talked her into taking the next flight! She knew she had to see Helena face to face if they were going to work anything out.  Just four more hours and she’d be in California.  She hoped Helena would appreciate the element of surprise.

‘Relax Helena I think your evening has just taken a turn for the better,’ said Natasha placing a hand on her knee as she drove Helena home.

Helena smiled to herself, she should have known Natasha would make a move.  She was tempted, she couldn’t pretend she wasn’t.  Natasha was a pretty good fuck and she would do anything to get this Alexa stuff out of her head tonight, except the one thing that really would end them for good…

‘Natasha,’ she said and moved her hand back.  ‘This isn’t going to happen.  I told you before, we had fun it’s over now.’

‘What does she have that I don’t?’ asked Natasha, turning to Helena.

‘Nat, keep your eyes on the fucking road, jesus’ said Helena as they swerved across the lane.  ‘I’m not talking about Alexa with you.  I shouldn’t have treated you that way especially as you’re an employee.  I’m sorry but you have to move on.’

Natasha turned to Helena again.  ‘Maybe I should start my moving on by letting you fucking walk the rest of the way home?’ she said her eyes flashing with anger.

‘Natasha look out!’ said Helena, and then there was blackness………….

‘Hel I really think we should call Alexa’ said Bette for the one thousandth time. 

‘Bette you can’t,’ Helena said breathlessly.  ‘She’ll freak out and she wouldn’t be able to get here until all this is over anyway.  I can’t believe the last thing I said to her was so horrible Bette,’ said Helena and let a tear fall onto her pillow.

Bette was finding this all tremendously difficult to cope with, they all were.  They’d been told Helena, had to be cut out of the car.  Natasha was unharmed of course but Helena had internal injuries, bleeding into her abdomen they said the CT scan showed, maybe from a liver laceration.  Blood transfusions were hooked up to both of her arms.  She was about to go down for emergency surgery any minute, she couldn’t get hold of Peggy and Helena was refusing to involve Alexa at all.
