“WHAT?” Max asked shocked.

Shane drove around for a long time before she left for her new apartment; she stopped crying half way there, and just wanted to escape now. She parked and ran up the stairs, forgetting she had an elevator. She stopped on the third floor, and went to open the door when it swung open.

“You’re late for dinner.” The little boy said, he moved out of the way for his sister, going to sit back down on the couch.

“Shay be nice, Shane’s a grown up. She doesn’t always have to be here for dinner.” Carla was shouting from the kitchen. “So how did it go Shane, did you get the rest of your stuff?”

Shane walked to the kitchen and collapsed in a chair. “No, I didn’t even get inside.”

“What happened to your arm?” Shay came in sitting in his usual spot, “did what’s-her-name hit you?” he went to get a drink and sat back down, waiting for her to answer.

“Sometimes I wonder why I wanted a little brother.” Shane said glaring at Shay, who in return stuck his tongue out. “No Carmen didn’t punch me, Alice did. After she attacked me with a bat.”

“Well, next time try calling.” Carla said, handing her plates.

Shane just sighed, handing Shay his plate. She jumped up surprising both Carla and Shay.

“I’m going to go to my place then I’m going to go out. So I will see you both tomorrow and Shay put my play station back before I get home, or else.” she shouted on her way out the door.

She ran across the hall and opened the door to her apartment. She ran into her bedroom, with her shirt over her head. She pulled her pants off and went for her back pack; she was looking for her white button down men’s shirt. She couldn’t find it and just decided to wear a wife beater instead. She pulled on a pair of fitted ripped, faded jean that show just enough for the girls. She grabbed her old tuxedo jacket and phone.

“Pick up, pick up.”

“Hello”

“Hey Al, look what are you doing tonight?” Shane asked not completely sure what she, herself, was doing. “Cuz I was planning on going to the Planet, and some where else after wards-”
