Jonathan: “okay”
He closes the door…Bette turns back and looks at Tina…She takes her hands into hers…
Bette: “you okay?”
Tina: “yeah…actually I’m alot better”
Bette: “that’s good to know…so are you going to be comfortable with heading back inside?”
Tina: “I’ll be fine…come on…”
Bette helps Tina with her bags and they head inside…
Next morning…
Bette and Tina are up early…They are at the table having breakfast together…
Bette: “T…could you pass the toast?”
Tina: “sure….here you go”
Bette: “thanks…”
Tina: “babe…could you pass the butter?”
Bette: “sure…here you go”
They don’t hear Bette’s mother enter the kitchen…
Mom: “good morning Precious…good morning Tina…”
Bette: “good morning”
Tina: “good morning”
Mom: “how did you sleep for your first night?”
Tina: “I slept well…thank you”
Bette: “mom…what time is daddy arriving?”
Mom: “at noon…that’s why I’m trying to cook now…”
Tina: “well I’m done”
Bette: “me too…”
Mom: “just leave your plates there…I’ll wash them”
Bette goes up to her mom and kisses her on the cheek…
Bette: “thanks…”
Mom: “anything for you Precious”
Tina: “thanks…”
Mom: “your welcome baby”
Bette and Tina head back to her room…Both awaiting the arrival of Melvin…Not exactly…They went back to bed…
3 hours later….
Knock! Knock!
Bette sits up in bed…She gets out and goes over to the door…
Bette: “yeah?”
Jonathan: “dad’s here”
Bette: “thanks…”
Tina sits up in bed…
Tina: “this is the moment we’ve been waiting for ladies and gentlemen”
Bette laughs…
Bette: “your so silly…what’s with the face again?…are you having doubts?”
Tina: “a bit…yes…”
Bette sits down next to Tina…She pushes her hair behind her ear…And looks into her eyes…
Bette: “okay where did this all come from at the last moment?”
Tina: “I don’t know…last night I was fine and now I’m not so sure”
Bette: “okay I’ll make a deal with you..if you feel the same way your feeling now after you see him again…I promise I’ll take to the hotel…”
Tina: “okay”
Bette: “is that better?”
Tina: “yes…”
Bette: “come on…get changed he’s waiting…”
Bette and Tina change…They both head out to meet Melvin…Where?…In the kitchen at the dinner table…What a nice way to get a conversation going?…Tina hoped it was bad because she was leaning more towards the hotel…And Bette hoped it was good because she would have finally made a point that she’e been fighting for years…She accepted Tina and so did her family…Everyone but her father…
