From her vantage point on the boulder, she could see the cabin outlined in lights. She was just far enough away to miss hearing conversation through the open windows, but she was satisfied with simply watching. Papi crossed the living room and gave Alice a side-armed hug while Helena and Bette laughed at some comment that Tina made. Max sat quietly in a corner, pecking away at a laptop computer. As she watched the chummy scene, she felt the anger percolate in her stomach and she narrowed her eyes. “They think they’re so smart,” she whispered fiercely, “but I’ll show them.”

“Don’t stay out too late, young lady…you need your beauty sleep,” Tina called out as Alice zipped a soft blue fleece hoody and prepared to step into the cool night.
“Anything else, Mom?” Alice shot back sarcastically.
“Yes—remember, dear…good girls don’t fight—so watch those flying fists,” Tina returned with a sly grin. Helena and Bette laughed while Papi crossed the room and gave Alice a reassuring hug.
“Aww, give her a break, Jenny deserved it.” Papi looked down and grinned at Alice. “You won’t slug Lara will you? She’s awfully cute you know—I don’t think a black eye would suit her as well as it does our Jenny.”
Alice rolled her eyes and playfully shoved Papi. “Get off me—Porter, I can’t believe you told everyone Lara and I were meeting tonight.”
“You two sort of set the stage for that when you broadcasted your business during your wrestling match earlier. Plus, the way you kept watching the kitchen door tonight at dinner and compulsively checking your watch every five minutes kind of gave it away,” Bette answered defensively. “So don’t blame me….I can keep a confidence.”
“Whatever. Don’t wait up.” Alice opened the door and walked out, chin up. Before the door shut, she called back over her shoulder, “Wish me luck!” She smiled when she heard the chorus behind her. As she walked down the porch steps the smile slipped a bit and she muttered, “Good luck? What the hell, it’s not like I’m going out on a date….shit.” She pulled out her flashlight and illuminated a wide arc by swinging her arm. “Now, where is that trail?” Spotting an opening between two sets of woods she struck off.

Mmmm…limber Alice…can’t concentrate on other things. LOL Wait…have torn myself away from that lovely image and let myself contemplate a reunion with Lara and then…ominous music please…the stalker is right around the corner. Very cool ride, but, please, let them all kick some ass before she strikes! Merry happy and all that Gold…hope all is well.
Thanks for the update! I am a Danish fan myself, but, can’t help but be drawn in by your excellent writing of Alice/Lara. I love that they talked and hopefully got past some of the issues they were both harboring. The stalker has me worried, though. PPS!
…part II: my comments are too long, I got cut off;) OK. Love how you set these two in the woodsy scene for their much-needed, distraction-free talk. And how you filled in the gaps for them on what they’ve been doing, feeling, etc. Bravo to Lara for going in for the smooch. And wait, is Jenny MIA? Who is this other ‘she’ at the end of this installment? Inquiring minds really do want to know. Can’t wait to read more soon…!

omg….. help me god! I have tons of essays to write but your writing is so good, and like so magnet I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it!!! so, Alice and Lara finally talk and kiss.. *blush, blush* I wonder who the stalker can be? Eversince, the stalker’s narrate the clues have been hanging around my head, yeah… It can be Sandy, she’s definitely number one suspect, or it can be someone who’s crazy about Alice considering that she or he’s been watching wherever Alice was…. this morning i was checking the updates and couldn´t believe my eyes, a new chapter of this story! i enjoyed to read this. alice and the bunny lol, very funny one. hope to read a new one soon!can´t wait for it!oh, i have to go for a walk, tasha is somwere outside :-)frohes neues jahr / happy new year(your german is perfect!)
Stalker?! Lace reunion! YES!! But…stalker? (Why do I think there’s more than one? I thought it would be Jenny, all Grinch-like at the citizens of WeHo-ville making merry without her, but the last bit made me think it was Sandy? See, now I’m worried about that bunny that crossed Alice’s path… I don’t want to see an Alex Forrest re-enactment. Eep!) Anyway, very nice convo between Lara and Alice, with a very nice finish… hope the next is soon.
