On the afternoon of the Lez Girls pre-release book signing event at the Planet Jenny was in her glory being at the center of attention. She and Kit had expected some media coverage but what they hadn’t anticipated was the number of movie people in attendance. Most were casting agents pitching their clients for starring roles in the movie but Jenny recognized a few major actors, actresses, screenplay writers, directors, producers and even some studio heads from competing studios still rivaling for a chance to get a piece of the hottest property in Hollywood.

Previously two of Jenny’s novels had been made into TV movies but she’d simply sold the rights and someone else wrote the scripts. She was never a part of anything as big as the phenomena Lez Girls was creating and it was overwhelming her. She was fortunate to have friends like Kit, Tina, and Nikki Stevens who were all well-versed in various aspects of the entertainment industry to help her maneuver through it all.

Shane still remained Jenny’s staunchest supporter though her experience in the movie business was limited. Shane had a short stint as the assistant to Hollywood producer Veronica Bloom but it was enough to cause her to caution Jenny about how manipulative and conniving people could be, and how cut throat the business especially for a novice. Shane told how Veronica had coerced her into using her empathy to swindle a vulnerable woman into signing over the complete movie rights to her life story for a mere fraction of what it was worth. After that experience Shane refused to ever be put in such a position again.

Shane came up from the streets. As a young teen she’d prostituted herself to feed her drug habit and she’d been sexually indiscriminate all her life. With the love, care and influence of a group of very special women she’d turned it all around and now proudly lived her life with integrity. She would never again allow someone else to compromise her core values. She immediately quit the job working for the unscrupulous producer and went back to just doing hair until the day came when she could realize her entrepreneurial dream.

That day had arrived with the grand opening of ‘Women Are Xquisite’ better known as W.A.X. just a few weeks away. W.A.X. was an all-inclusive wellness center for women only. It wasn’t just a place; it was a bonding experience where women could get their hair done, have facials, experiment with make-overs; be pampered with manicures, pedicures, and massages as well as enjoy overall health and fitness programs.
