    Rebuilding Chapter 2

Bette awoke momentarily confused as to the noise that roused her from sleep.  She heard the whimpering from the baby monitor on the nightstand next to the bed.  Bette smiled down at Tina who was sleeping soundly.  Bette disentangled herself from Tina and kissed her gently on the forehead as she got out of bed.   She put on a tank and pyjama pants, and made her way down the hall, so she could tend to Angie before she woke Tina as well.

"Hey Boo, it’s okay.  Mama B is here." Bette lifted the child who snuggled immediately in her arms and tucked her head under Bette’s chin.  Bette knew that Angie wasn’t fully awake, and would fall back to sleep relatively quickly.

"Boo, let’s go use the bathroom, okay honey?"  Bette made her way to the bathroom, and helped Angie use the toilet.  After a quick drink of water, the two made their way back to Angie’s room.  Angie was practically asleep again as Bette laid her back in her bed.  Bette covered Angie with a light blanket, gave her a quick kiss, and walked quietly out of the room.

Bette made her way to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water.  She smiled as she looked at the clock – 3:47a.m – she and Tina had only fallen asleep about an hour earlier.  She stretched her arms out to the side, and felt the soreness throughout her body from the night’s activities.  Now fully awake, Bette walked out to the lounger remembering the events of the evening.

        Earlier…

After her swim, Tina led Bette to their bedroom, where they stood facing one another at the edge of the bed, suddenly both nervous to be there together.

Bette rested her hands on Tina’s hips.  "So, it’s been quite a day. This is not how I imagined this day would end."

"Who said it’s over, babe?"  Tina rested her hands on Bette’s hips and pulled her into a light embrace.  Bette shuddered at the skin to skin contact, as the only thing that separated them were the bikinis that they were wearing.

Tina looked into Bette’s eyes only to find her looking everywhere around the room but at her.  She took her hand and placed it on Bette’s cheek so she could make eye contact with her.
