Cradling the phone, Carmen lay on the sofa, tears flowing freely down her face. Every so often she’d dial Shane’s number, but never quite made it to pressing the call button. She was such a mess, going through the classic head versus heart dilemma. Her head was telling her that Shane had fucked up one too many times and that she should just cut loose and move on with her life, but her heart kept stopping her. In a weird way, running out on their wedding was evidence of one of the many reasons why she loved Shane. Her take on life had never been quite the same as anyone elses, but her heart was in the right place. Carmen genuinely believed that Shane had felt she was doing the right thing. But then she couldn’t just forgive her for the embarrassment and heartache that she had gone through. Shane certainly never made things easy. A few minutes passed and once again she went through the ritual of dialling the number that she knew by heart. Only this time a sudden desire to hear her once lovers voice made her press the call button.
“Carmen?” Shane answered within one ring.
Tears falling down her cheeks, Carmen opened her mouth to speak, but couldn’t find the words.
“Carmen?” Shane asked again, trying to keep her voice soft without showing the desperation that was the truth.
Unable to control her emotions, Carmen hung up the phone and dissolved into tears. At this moment she was in no position to make a decision of any kind. She couldn’t make her mind up from one moment to the next, with hatred and love flowing through her at the same time.
Shaking, Shane held her phone in her hands, staring at the screen. That call couldn’t have been an accident; Carmen had meant to dial her number. And that must mean that at least a bit of her wanted to speak to her. Unless it meant she wanted to end it once and for all but hadn’t quite been able to find the courage. Either way, Shane knew she couldn’t just leave it. So, not knowing what to expect, she dialled the number of the house in which she once lived.

oh, i hope things will work out for them both…i can’t believe tina is choosing henry for now
Tina is just being disrespectful by letting Henry stay at the house in the first place, now the guilt trip on Bette. Glad Shane & Carmen are working it out. Slap some senses into Tina will you. Thanks for the quick post.
First, the audacity for Tina to think that she would be able to share Bette’s house, their home, with Henry, and then guilt her when she she couldn’t have her cake and be able to eat it too. What did she think Bette would have done…continue to bend over backwards for her forsaking her domicile and happiness? Secondly, why is Carmen living at the house, making Shane stay away, when Shane and Jenny were the actual/original tenants? Shouldn’t Carmen have gone to her parents to lament the embarrassment and loss of her relationship? Lastly, what are these chapters only one page long? I would love to read more. TY.

I was trying to be nice to to Tina today but after reading this I want to rip her head off. She has g-damn nerve to be living it up in Bette’s house with Henry and Henry has got even the bigger nerve to step to Bette like it’s his own damn house. He thinks that just because he’s fcking Tina he has rights? Please! This may sound cruel but Bette does need to kick Tina out if she continues to parade Henry around the house like the “Beaver Family.” Also I echo seven’s comments about carmen living at the house, what’s that about? Anyhoot post soon!
this story is hurting, the finale move by Bette was the stupidest move ever and I hated the writers and IC for going down that road and your rendition up to this point is painful but truthful to how it was playing out. Hope you find a way for these two to communicate.

I’m glad Bette finally relized how fucked up that was, lmao. And another thing, why is Carmen at Jenny and Shane’s house keeping Shane away from her own house? . . . Who in the Hell does Henry think he is. He was lucky that Bette didnt throw him out on his ass. How can Tina disrepect Bette and bring him there. He had somewhere to live before he met Tina Let them go there. Carmen in Shane house what is wrong with this picture.
