    The artcollectors daughter clenched her jaws together as she yet again witnessed the tender wave between the two women opposite of her. Her interest in the blonde hadn’t subsided as she’d seen her struggle with the etiquette and the silverwear, quite the contrary was the fact. Tina Kennard stood out, and was a gem that sparkled right before her eyes, but that belonged, quite obviously to somebody else…

    Miss Porter…

    She drew back the galleryowners attention to the conversation, as only one on the table unaware of the fact that the brunette had been uncomfortable only moments before. Her voice was stricter than she had intented it to sound, and she, annoyed, knew that had more to do with the blonde than with her mothers business.

    But before she could, coldly, ask the question that was the reason for this meeting, the escargot that Tina had been so deparately trying to grasp slipped out of the spoon with incredible force, into a standing waiter’s hand.

    All women on the table blinked as they tried to wrap their thoughts around what just had happened, and the blonde started to blush fiercely. Blinking, she whispered the words noone had suspected, making it almost impossible for Peggy not to burst out in laughter, and evoking shivers of tenderness in Helena as well as Bette.

    Slippery little suckers…

    It happens all the time, miss.

    The waiter quickly reassured her, which earned him a glittering shy smile from the gorgeous blonde.

    Tina could positivily kick herself, and she wished she could hide her face in her hands as she glanced aside into the beaming face of Bette, who, momentarily, had forgotten there were others at the table… The force between them was even stronger then before, and the young woman felt a jump of reassurance in her heart, but the connection was roughly broken as Helena’s upperclass accent rose in question:

    My question is, once you have acquired the collection, assuming you will, what do you plan to do with it?

    For Bette, who was again taken by surprise, it was impossible to keep all the emotion, all the anger, out of her voice as she answered:

    Break it up and sell the pieces one… By… One…

    Emphasizing those words with sharp motions resulting in the cracking of an escargot-shell, the other 3 women, startled, sat back for a moment…

    4. Oh… My… God… J, you’ve outdone yourself with this chapter! That was just brillant! So powerful and intense. I was on the edge of my seat through the whole journey! But with just the right amount of tension, humor and tenderness… Let me tell you the thing that amazed me the most with this chapter (well, one of the things!)… What were the realistic chances to write this chapter being as true to the characters (and by that I mean those from the show) as to the original movie?…. Not many indeed. Well, you did it, my dear! I was just stunned by how well thought the whole thing was… Everyone was being just who they are, and you still have an almost alike scene from the original movie. You are so talented!!! And of course, I love how you relate each event to the B&T’s interaction and relationship… Very beautifully written. As for the French references… Thanks to Therese Belivet for helping you out on this one, cause the result is awesome… One Bette Porter speaking French is definitely a must-read!!! Poor Tina, the fancy restaurant, food and company were probably nothing compared to the turmoil she must have felt when hearing “sa belle”. J, you have to update this very soon… Please. I’m so looking forward to the continuation of this, you’ve kept us hanging to the last word of this chapter… I know I’m being slightly unfaithful to BOF, but this is getting so very good and perfect!!! You are such a good writer! Thank you.

The emotional actions and reactions between the four ladies and how each affected the other was just perfect. Look forward to seeing the play for Tina between Bette and Helena. Peggy is as charming as ever.

    14. Oh how I hope you update this soon! This was an awesome chapter – this story just keeps getting better and better. Your writing is exquisite. I think Bette has a few fences to mend…and one very large wall that need to come down. She really needs to let her defenses down when she and Tina are alone. I think Tina may have some insight as to how to fix all of Bette’s problems; and Bette can for sure help Tina with hers. Please post soon JLB&T!
