    Pretty Women, episode 14B

Ahh, Côteaux de l’Aubance, ce vin se marie parfaitement avec le foie gras

The young waiter, who had been taken by surprise as the gorgeous brunette had adressed him in his own language, was beaming, as he congratulated the galleryowner with her choice :

Permettez-moi de vous féliciter pour ce choix : ce vin se marie parfaitement, en effet, avec le foie gras

Tina’s lips had gone dry as she was still watching those of the brunette… Those unobtainable, perfectly formed lips that jerked into a pleasant smile for the waiter, before she turned back to the table.

    Where were we?

She adressed Helena, and, knowing she had impressed, and maybe even intimidated the two women, she smiled knowingly, leaning back…

The light eyes in front of her blinked, and glanced to the face of the blonde Helena had instantly admired… Knowing she was fighting a lost battle as she took in the hazel eyes fixed upon the galleryowner, a tender care spreading from them, warming the surroundings, Helena sighed, and continued her business-conversation

We find it very hard, Miss Porter, to find out what your intentions truely are?

Before Bette could answer however, the first course arrived, leaving Tina in the dreadfull dillema on which silverwear to use first…

Peggy Peabody, who, endeared, was watching her struggle, and as the waiter allowed Bette to taste the wine she had so carefully chosen, the older woman leaned towards the blonde, and as Tina glanced aside, she saw how Peggy gently looked into her eyes

I don’t know about you, but Ive never been able to figure out which goes with what…

She stated, off course not entirely truefull, but with the sudden conviction that if she wanted to reach the brunette, she’d have to do it through the blonde, the redheaded woman winked at Tina, before taking the pate between her fingers and savouring it without the use of the complex silverwear.

Both brunettes glanced aside, Bette surprised by the tenderness that flooded over her as she caught sight of Tina, her heart filling with a warmth she had never thought possible. She saw how the blondes eyes lit up at the artcollectors friendly words, and how she too picked up a piece of the foie gras… Suddenly, Bette felt a wave of care for the older woman, for making Tina feel at ease. And she felt how her own lips curled up in the first genuin smile of the evening…

    1. Dear friend, dear friend… I’m so touched by your words, really I am. I didn’t read these pages yet, but I had to thank you for bringing such a beautiful ray of sunshine on this particular day I really needed one. Now, I will slowly savouring this chapter… Talk with you soon, dearest M. ! *hugs* – A.

    2. Oh… My… God… J, you’ve outdone yourself with this chapter! That was just brillant! So powerful and intense. I was on the edge of my seat through the whole journey! But with just the right amount of tension, humor and tenderness… Let me tell you the thing that amazed me the most with this chapter (well, one of the things!)… What were the realistic chances to write this chapter being as true to the characters (and by that I mean those from the show) as to the original movie?…. Not many indeed. Well, you did it, my dear! I was just stunned by how well thought the whole thing was… Everyone was being just who they are, and you still have an almost alike scene from the original movie. You are so talented!!! And of course, I love how you relate each event to the B&T’s interaction and relationship… Very beautifully written. As for the French references… Thanks to Therese Belivet for helping you out on this one, cause the result is awesome… One Bette Porter speaking French is definitely a must-read!!! Poor Tina, the fancy restaurant, food and company were probably nothing compared to the turmoil she must have felt when hearing “sa belle”. J, you have to update this very soon… Please. I’m so looking forward to the continuation of this, you’ve kept us hanging to the last word of this chapter… I know I’m being slightly unfaithful to BOF, but this is getting so very good and perfect!!! You are such a good writer! Thank you.

    3. My dear yound friend, so glad to see you had posted. It was so close to seeing the movie while reading your words. Hope to see more of your post. thanks so much

    6. So happy to see your update. Loved this chapter and the way you are adapting the story. The emotional actions and reactions between the four ladies and how each affected the other was just perfect. Look forward to seeing the play for Tina between Bette and Helena. Peggy is as charming as ever.

    7. Oh how I hope you update this soon! This was an awesome chapter – this story just keeps getting better and better. Your writing is exquisite. I think Bette has a few fences to mend…and one very large wall that need to come down. She really needs to let her defenses down when she and Tina are alone. I think Tina may have some insight as to how to fix all of Bette’s problems; and Bette can for sure help Tina with hers. Please post soon JLB&T! My prayers are being sent for everyone in Tabasco, Mexico.

    8. Hey girl, I am glad to have read this chapter. I keep waiting to see if you have updated and I was happy to read it once I finally was able to read it. Keep it up because I can’t wait to see if or how Tina approaches Bette about her mother’s work.
