Planet Terror: Zombie Redux
Hello, my love
I heard a kiss from you
Red magic satin playing near, too
All through the morning rain
I gaze – the sun doesn’t shine –
Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind….
The former American military base bustled with strange new purpose. Helicopters were refueled, supplies sorted. Bullets, guns, grenades and even makeshift pipebombs, were placed in every jeep the survivors could find.
Bette, Helena, Aikane and Catherine were the strategic overseers of the military incursion. They were up against an army of the undead.
Bette and Helena would lead the group.
“My mother will stay far behind with the baby.” Helena drew a picture of what would be their formations. “If infection begins to spread, if it looks like we’re beginning to lose…if somehow, this all fails, I want my mother, our daughter, and a pilot to fly out of here immediately.”
“You and Bette though…” Catherine looked the two over—she wondered if they were even taller than before, but then noticed that they had their boots on and she did not. “You two have to get to her as well.”
“We’ll do our best. We just need a contingency plan for the baby.” Bette spoke quickly, dismissively, as though the possibility of leaving her child orphaned would not pose a difficulty for her. “We move out tomorrow…” She added.
“No, we need at least another day.” Shane interrupted, breathless, a piece of paper in her hands. “And we found something.”
Aikane took it from her, reading it quickly.
“hell yeah.” She grinned. “a FUCKING aircraft carrier! Big enough to take all of us..where did you find this babe?”
Shane looked proud of herself, and grinned when she earned a kiss from her new (and probably temporary, they all thought in secret) girlfriend. “I just found this list of supplies. The carrier is on the other side of the island, just past where we’ll most likely find the infected.”
Later, they tried to clean up the mess left by the last round of infected. Mops, buckets, water, and industrial soap were dragged up and down hallways. They didn’t want maggots and the smell of rot marring their last few nights of sleep. And then they heard the sound…

What an ominous close. I gather it will be some time before Helena helps Bette deal with her insomnia again. Pity.
^^Ditto…you’re always ending ur posts with a ominous close, it makes me antsy…u shouldn’t do that…no, you should because that makes me want to read it more…pps
aych-beee-eeeee…. you gotta stop making me worry like that. Well, you don’t *really* gotta, cos it’s fun to be scared as Jem and the Holograms once sang (That’s right. I just went there.), but every time one of them gets these premonitions, they come true, in heart-stopping fashion. Okay, whinging done… for now. Great update, thanks hb. Right then, on to the werewolves…
Peggy trying to act oblivious? Since when? Is she OK. Now THAT’S got me worried. By the way, did the cure on Jenny and Shane restore their rotted and/or lost bits? I worry that the gang is losing their edge with that 3 Stooges imitation they did trying to dispatch the zombie they discovered during the clean up. Maybe they were just tired after the battle. But Bette really was asking for with that game of darts.
that was great and I can’t wait to see what will happen next so please post soon great update I love it
I hope Bette’s dream doesn’t come true… Great chapter HB… PPS!!!
Trying to come up with halfway witty comment, but just don’t have it in me tonight. You know I’m wicha hb…write on..whatever kind of undead does it for ya…
