“Um, me, Alice, Tasha, your two kiddos, Bette and Rachel.”

“Bette brought the kids? And Rachel was with her?”

“Yeah.” Shane says with confusion in her voice. “Is there something wrong?”

“No, no.” I pause. “I’m just surprised that Bette was at the Planet.”

“Tina.”

“What?” I ask.

“How do you really feel about, Rachel?”

“I like her.”

“Is that all?”

“There is nothing wrong, Shane. Rachel is a nice woman. Young, but very mature.”

“Eh, see.” Shane says. “That right there.” She pauses. “The young part.”

“What about it?”

“You don’t like the fact that she is young, do you?”

“I never said that.”

“Then why is that the only thing other than nice, that you stated?”

“I don’t know.”

“Tina.” She repeats my name.

“Alright.” I say. “Fine.”

“So you are admitting you have a problem that she is young?”

“I don’t know, she isn’t even that young. I guess my brain is just trying to find ways to hate the next woman that comes into Bette’s life.” I pick up a pen that lay in front of me and start to play with it in my hand.

“Do you think Bette is doing the same to Danielle?”

“This is just new again for us, being without each other. Being with different people at the same time. I don’t know, maybe she does think of ways to dislike Danielle.” I pause. “Or maybe it is just a me thing.”

“Tina, are you..”

“No, no I am not still in love with Bette.” I cut in. “I already know what you are going to say.” I lay the pen down on the desk. “I just have to teach my brain to handle this better, I guess it is just me, I guess this is just new again.”

“Do you think Bette cares for Rachel?”

“I seen the smile on Bette’s face when she showed up with her at Tasha’s party, and it tells me she does.”

“And do you care for Danielle?”

I smile thinking of Danielle.

“Is it safe to say that was a yes?” Shane asks me with a chuckle.

I nod. “Yes.”
