"I’ll be in my room." Angelica declared before running off to her room, quickly followed by her younger sister, leaving their parents at the front door.

"Dinner’s in ten!" Tina called after the two mini-Bettes.

Bette followed Tina into the kitchen, and stood aside as Tina resumed kitchen duties. Two minutes of complete silence, she grinned and declared, "I miss this."

Tina turned to her. "Missed what, babe?"

"This. Some quiet. You and me."

Tina grinned back. She glanced at the direction of the upstairs bedrooms of their children. "I miss being sixteen years younger."

"When did she become such a handful," Bette mused, taking out a bottle of water, pouring Tina a glass and keeping the bottle to herself. "Or, for that matter, how."

Tina lifted an eyebrow. "I take it the lecture went well?"

"If me talking and her on the brink of crying before I even said anything can be called ‘well’." Bette admitted.

"I think she built it up so big in her head that she was expecting the worst," Tina told her. "What did you say?"

"Things about responsibility, honesty…" Bette closed her eyes, shaking her head. "They hit a tree because they were avoiding a cat."

"That could’ve been a dog," Tina agreed.

"T, there was yelling, and pleading, and ranting, and raving, and I think I even mentioned that it’s her recklessness that’s the reason why she doesn’t have a dog…" Bette sighed. "I couldn’t help but bring up painful memories for her."

"I’m sure that no matter what, it was still better that she expected."

    "How can you say that?"

"We’re not exactly queens of understatement, babe." Tina said softly, coming closer to her wife. "We both have a flair for the dramatic. I think Angelica’s got that in spades."

Bette groaned. "I feel so bad."

    "That much energy?"

"Guilt. She looks so sad when you yell at her."

"Someone has to do it," Tina said gently, running her fingers through Bette’s hair. "Did she do that wide-eyed poor-me Porter routine?"

    "I resent that." Bette said.

    "But you know it’s true."

"Well, it certainly worked with you," Bette joked.

    1. One of my favorite things about this story is that Bette and Tina are still together and after 2 kids and many years, they are still hot for each other. Great stuff. In fact,I think it should be a sitcom.

    2. Thank you for the story. I read most of it in one sitting (again, 4 years late). And thank you also for knowing when to end. In a good way (not with the negative connotations). It’s refreshing to see a story that has an end that doesn’t drag on for eternity. Or leave us poor readers hanging. But honestly, it’s not like i mind the ones that do go on for 80 chapters or so… :)

    3. Btw. I’ve been reading every single word you’ve written on this site (it’s winter break), and it’s really interesting, knowing what we know now about the direction of the canon storyline, to see how everyone had reacted to the show versus the narratives that happen on this website. Some of the authors on this site should have been writing for showtime…

    4. Loved it, loved it, loved it! So, no pressure, but when are you starting your next story? Tiff, you are such an amazing writer, I get so excited everytime I see you have posted. Don’t let season 3 get you down. Your B&T’s are better than IC’s any day. Lets all pretend season 3 isn’t even happening. Selfishly, your writing helps me do that, I wish you could escape the madness by reading someone as amazingly talented as yourself. Thanks for writing :)

    5. love this story and the family that B&T finally became…sad to see it end but i can’t wait for you to continue with Let me in and see how the two of them got to that perfect point

    6. LOL I’m reading this story for the 2nd time and still felt a bit sad that it came to an end.. I’m so in love with your Kennard-Porter family.. Let Angelica be gay and I’ll hook up with her.. LOL.. Thanks for giving us hope..

    7. “You know what, let’s blame Kit and the rest of our friends.” ROFLMAO, all I can say is Thank you for this lovely history about B&T. Looking forward for the next! (Babysis)

    8. This was such a cute story. I’m sad to see it end, but in a way I think the pace and length were just right so as not to run the whole thing into the ground.

    9. The end? I think Katie’s getting short shrift. Me, too. Alas should this be true. And if so, this has been most enjoyable. So much so I’d prefer you’d carry on.
