Chapter 19
(Still late Sunday night / early Monday morning)
The paramedics unload Denbo at the emergency room, still in the custody of the police, kicking and screaming.
“My nose is broken you stupid hicks….that bitch broke my nose!! Why isn’t she under arrest??”
The policemen look at Sam then back to Denbo…..and ignore her.
“I’m going to sue ALL of you. She assaulted me and you’re doing nothing about it! I’m going to own this city.”
The officer in charge walks up to Denbo, “We investigated how you got the bloody nose. All the witnesses, one of them being a police undercover officer, have given statements that you turned to run away from officer who gave you a directive to stop. The witnesses state that you ran into Ms. Matthews as you attempted to evade arrest. Your broken nose is a result of your actions, not hers. The only one who’s going to be arrested here is you. Work out your issues with your lawyer.”
Sam stands nearby and watches the interaction…she whispers, “You’re lucky that your septum is the only thing that got deviated. You better hope that Porter doesn’t get her hands on you. You’re should be thanking these people for arresting you.”

(An hour and a half later)
Sam and Shane walk up to Bette and Tina’s room. They peek into the darkened room, unsure if their friends are still awake. They see that Bette is wide awake and looking at the ceiling. Tina is in the bed next to hers, sleeping soundly. When Bette sees the 2 friends stick their heads in, she waves them over and whispers.
“Help me into the chair please…I want to talk but I don’t want to wake up Tina.”
They roll Bette into the hallway and Sam talks to the guards at the room and sends them away.
“Tell me you have Dawn Denbo. That Tina is safe.”
“We have her, Bette. You don’t have to worry anymore.”
Shane chuckles, “Sam broke her nose. It was beautiful.”
Sam gives a small smile then looks right at Bette. “She’ll have to stay in the hospital a few days. They have to operate on her nose.”

Hi Vegas, Another wonderful chapter as this story progresses sweetly. Denbo is in cuffrs in hospital and Bette got a chance to work their shit through.Bette has dealt with this annoyance to her life and is now able to build a future with Tina and their children.It was great to see their friends rally round them and be their family.More please.Many thanks for an amazing adventure.Your Loyal (if quiet) Fan.
