“Actually, I was hoping to see you here, Tina, so I could apologize for what happened the other night. You fainted, I panicked…then Alice came and kicked me out before I could do anything or explain…” Helena shrugged her shoulders and smiled innocently. “I just wanted to say that I am really, really sorry, darling…”

“Pass the bread, here comes the boloney,” Alice muttered under her breath and Bette chuckled.

Helena’s retort died on her lips as her eyes landed on Bette and she blinked a few times, as if trying to clear her vision. “Oh, Bette…I didn’t see you there, when did you get back? Tina told me you went to…Geneva…I think.”

Bette exchanged glances with Tina and nodded, “Yes…just got back last night…from Geneva. I was gone for a while and we would like some privacy…if you don’t mind.”

“Ah…I see,” Helena nodded and then sighed theatrically. “I understand and see that I am not wanted here. I’m glad you are feeling better, Tina. I will leave you alone, ladies. Au revoir.”

As soon as she was out of the earshot, Alice exclaimed, “Thank God, I thought she’d never leave. Anyway…where was I when we were so rudely interrupted?”

“You were talking to Dana but got disconnected,” Shane replied.

“Oh yeah, the last time we talked she was about fifteen minutes away from the café and that was about an hour ago. The connection here is awful and the place is so noisy. I’m going outside to call her back and make she sure is okay, “ Alice said with worry and hurried out of the Planet.

Meanwhile, outside the Planet

Helena got on the driver seat of her Aston Martin that was parked right next to the “No Parking Zone” but she didn’t start the car immediately. Instead, she looked to her right and nodded at Candace, who was sitting there, patiently waiting the whole time.

“Here’s the plan…”

“Money first…” Candace stretched out her hand with an air of confidence that her demand will be accepted.

Helena smiled, “Of course…it is a business venture after all, though my proposal is beneficial to the both of us so you shouldn’t be so cocky.”

Candace shrugged, “But I like to mix business with pleasure, that makes my rewards so much sweeter.”
