“Sounds great to me,” Shane instantly said, followed by cheers from the rest of the girls.

“Ditto,” Dana exclaimed with a little delay. She was absorbed in the article about herself in the ‘Sports Illustrated’ and missed all the commotion.

“Okay then, it’s settled,” Kit said enthusiastically. “Food is on me…Shane, honey, would you and Carmen take care of the drinks, please?”

“Sure, Kit,” Shane and Carmen replied in unison and laughed, heading for the bar.

“Alice, Dana…help me with plates and glasses, girls,” Kit continued.

“We’re on it, Chief,” Alice saluted mockingly and marched towards the kitchen, dragging Dana with her.

“Al, I was still reading,” Dana whined but left the magazine on the table and followed her girlfriend.

“Honey, you’ve been reading this article for a week now. I didn’t know you were such a slow reader. Were you kicked out of elementary school or something?” Alice teased, knowing too well why Dana was so attached to the magazine.

“This is my first public exposure nationwide…I just want to be sure that I look good,” Dana mumbled defensively.

“Dane, you look really good to me…always. The article is great and that picture of yours in those tight white shorts makes me wanna jump your bones all the time,” Alice whispered seductively, trying to make Dana feel better.

“Really?” Dana smiled, squeezing Alice’s hand.

“Really, honey…you’re the best and I love you.”

After everyone began doing what they were asked, Kit turned around to follow Alice and Dana.

“Kit, what do you want us to do?” Bette asked, getting up and pulling Tina with her.

“You two just sit there and look pretty and in love,” Kit smiled affectionately at her ‘little sister’.

“Okay,” Tina replied happily and pushed Bette back on her chair as she sat down on her lap. “I’m so exhausted that looking pretty and in love it’s all I can manage.”

“Me too,” Bette eagerly agreed, giving Tina a kiss.

“Why do they have to sit around and do nothing?” Alice complained as she returned with a stack of plates and began placing them on the table.

“Bette and Tina are the guests of honor,” Kit yelled from the kitchen.
