Chapter 39: Luke…I’m your father… (Bette meets Melvin for the first time and it’s almost Christmas)
(Previously) “Wow…hold on a minute here, Ms. Kennard. They have treatment for that kind of thing, you know. Addiction is a serious thing, you might get hurt, or even worse…I might get hurt,” Bette teased her, looking in her lover’s eyes with more yearning.
“I don’t want to get cured. I, Tina Kennard, am a Betteaholic and I’m proud of it. As long as you with me this addiction will be a healthy one, I swear,” Tina smiled, sealing her promise with another kiss.
“Well, if you put it this way then I guess I also have a confession to make. I, Bette Porter, am a Tinaddict and want to remain such for the rest of my life,” Bette said, holding Tina hands and looking into her eyes.
They smiled at each other and Tina saw desire growing again in Bette’s big brown eyes. Tina herself felt that her center was throbbing and she needed…no, she craved Bette’s touch and Bette’s closeness. Tina slowly licked her lips and squeezed her lover’s hands tight.
“Is it too soon to take you to heaven again?” Bette asked timidly, noticing the change in Tina’s demeanor and hypnotized by the lip-licking.
“I thought you would never ask,” Tina smiled and swiftly pulled Bette on top of her, “I’m ready to take off, captain.”

“Tee, I wish you would come with me,” Bette pouted, getting ready to go with Kit to meet her father for dinner. They were back in their LA home for the holiday break and Bette was talking of nothing else the whole day.
Tina suggested that Bette and Kit go alone and it made Bette a complete nervous wreck, “Bette, honey, it is a family dinner. How would you explain my presence there without telling him that I’m your girlfriend? Or were you planning on telling him that I was just your friend or a roommate?” Tina asked without anger or frustration that could be expected to come with that statement.
“Well, I was going to introduce you as a love of my life but if you insist on being my roommate, I can say that,” Bette replied playfully. “I would feel more at ease with you there, though,” she finished seriously.
