Our Life is Not a Movie… Or Maybe.

Alice unlocked her apartment door and wearily collapsed onto her sofa, ignoring the constant ringing of her cell phone. Her friends cared way too much sometimes, she thought to herself as she flicked on the television. She absently flicked through channels, her mind completely preoccupied with thoughts of Dana.

"Stupid tennis player and her stupid girlfriend," Alice muttered to herself, her eyes fixed on the television screen. "Living in my stupid neighborhood…"

"Alice open the door." Alice chose to ignore Shane’s muffled voice. "Whatever Alice, I know where your spare key is."

A few seconds later, Shane emerged into the lounge room, throwing the spare key onto Alice, who grunted in response.

"What’s up your ass?" Shane asked as she sat on the lounge, repositioning Alice’s legs on top of her. "You left without any warning so Bette was complaining, and then some random chick called security on me because I looked ‘shady.’ You could have at least told me you were going so I could have bailed."

"Sorry," Alice replied sincerely. "In the girl’s defence, you are a bit shady."

"Whatever Al," Shane laughed, smacking Alice’s thigh hard, causing the blonde to yelp. "So are you going to tell me what’s wrong?"

"Can I tell you tomorrow morning?" Alice asked quietly, her eyes downcast. "I don’t really feel like explaining it all now."

"Of course." Shane lifted Alice’s legs up and stood up, pulling the blonde along with her. "Let’s get some sleep. Mind sharing your bed?"

"Is this some excuse to feel me up?" Alice enquired. Shane rolled her eyes and walked into Alice’s bedroom, the blonde following quickly behind. "Fine, but I’m a kicker!"

"Alice in a library? I never thought I’d see the day!"

Alice turned her attention from the book she was reading to the voice behind her.

"Henry! Long time no see," Alice replied, standing up to hug the tall, lanky boy. "For the record, I’m not here by choice."

"Are any of us?" He joked, taking a seat beside her. "How’ve you been?"

    1. I am so thrilled to see a new chapter on this story!! Shane was a good friend to follow Alice to make sure she was OK, but, to back off when it was clear Alice did not want to talk. Also to cover for Alice with Bette. Going to Europe and not telling Alice? Bad Dana!! Can’t wait to find out more about what happened back then. And I am looking forward to when Dana arrives at the party — and whether she will bring her girlfriend. Thanks so much, bojangles!! As you can see, you have been missed.

    2. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! What a great day! New chaps from you and CD! This was awesome! I had forgotten all about it so I went back and reread. I love the whole idea of them being together in the past and having to start over. I can’t wait to see where you take it! PPS. This was amazing!

    3. This is be my first time commenting on your stories which I love each and every single one of them. I was away when you posted the first chapter of this story and the last chapter of ‘Road to Joy.” I was so thrilled that another “Danish Hall of Fame Writers” returned to give us more stories. I completely missed out on commenting during the hey days of Danish fanfics. The comradery was applaudable and admirable. Today, I am very happy that you have drawn us Danish faithful together again. Hopefully, the Danish spirit will be kept alive. Back to this post, if your past writing is any indication, this is going be another fantastic story. I love the plot and can’t wait to find out why D did not discuss her tennis contract in Europe before school ended and how A & D could find their way back together with Samantha’s presence. Thank you very much, bojangles! p.s. I wish I could proof read your stories only if my English is half way decent.

    5. Wow so I have this amazing timing…I was going to read some of your past stuff thinking you’d moved on and forgot about us and look at what my eyes did gaze upon. Thanks so much for the update I would offer to proof but I think you might want someone who doesn’t have millions of errors in her stories :) thanks PPS.
