Our Life is Not A Movie… Or Maybe
“Wrong? Pfft nothing’s wrong,” Alice replied, her voice slightly high-pitched. “I’m just sick of art. I’m sick of snobby people who can afford art. I just want to leave.”
“I understand that Al,” Tina said, rubbing Alice’s back. The blonde was slightly beside herself and Tina had no idea why. “But one minute you were fine and the next you were a quiet, nervous wreck over there. What’s going on?”
“Nothing Tina,” Alice assured her with a weak smile. “I’m just tired. Really I’m fine.”
“Hey Al, there’s some girl in the corner there who keeps looking at you.”
Alice turned to look at where Georgie, her roommate was pointing. Sure enough, in the corner of the coffee shop was Speedy Gonzales from that morning.
“Hey George I’ll meet you up at the apartment ok? She’s from one of my classes. I’m just going to go say hi.”
Georgie smiled and got up; “Just going to say hi… sure thing Al. I know that look.”
“Shut up George.” Alice replied as she too got up and made her way over to the brunette, who was now pretending to be completely interested in a book she was reading.
“Hey speedy.” Alice laughed at the girl’s poor attempt to act surprised. “Not running into anyone at the moment I see.”
“Yeah I only do that for people I really like,” Dana responded, her cheeks quickly turning a dark shade of red when she realised what she had said. “Ah… what I meant was that I don’-“
“Save it cutie,” Alice reassured her. “So what’s a girl like you doing in a coffee shop like this?”
“Um… having coffee,” Dana replied, unsure of whether that was a sincere question or not. “And reading.”
“Interesting.” Alice said, not sounding that interested in it at all. “So I was thinking that maybe you’d be interested going out with me one night… say tonight?”
“Me? Like on a date?” Alice nodded her head confidently. “What makes you think I’m even gay?”
“I’m just taking a chance,” Alice replied honestly. She smirked a little; “Plus I totally saw you checking me out this morning.”
“I was not.” Dana refuted, blushing a little more because Alice was completely right. “Besides I don’t even know your name, why do you expect me to go on a date with you?”

Wow bojangles – welcome back – we’ve missed you – just jumped on and found you had loaded 2 installments of a new story – fantastic and love the way you have started and look forward to much more. Great to see you around again.
Great chapter, bojangles! Thanks for posting another so quickly. I love the flashbacks of them meeting. Too cute. I don’t like that Dana has a girlfriend. See if you can do something about that, OK? ;-D I am also very curious to find out about the Dana/Alice breakup. It sounds like it was pretty bad. Thanks so much for this story. PPS!
