One Moment More
”Dana…” Alice mumbled in her slumber. A tear rolled down her cheek as the clock on her night-stand showed 4am…
The goose bumps on the back of her neck were noticeable while she walked through the creepy graveyard. It was pitch dark due to the fact that it was past midnight and the clouds were all over the sky so the moon couldn’t even peek through them to concede even a slight beam. The breeze slowly whispered into her ear. She hesitated for a split second, stood still, her head low, defeated shoulders and a trembling lower lip. Taking a deep breath she continued her walk to her destination. She started to shake uncontrollably as she realized that she had approached there…
There…
There, the place she dreaded the most. She didn’t want to see so she kept looking down to the lawn beneath her feet. Knowing she couldn’t run away anymore, she closed her eyes tightly for a last time and lifting her head, she opened them. And the world stopped turning as it finally hit her. The writing on the stone said it all. She was gone… Her Dana was gone…
”Dana…” she whispered as she gave in to her weak, quivering knees and with a thud she fell down on them. A tear rolled down her cheek, making its way to her parted lips. She reached for the cold stone and slowly caressed it as if it were a precious lover. She wandered the letters on the stone one by one while her loud sobs echoed throughout the graveyard.
”Al?” her head jerked up as she heard the familiar voice behind her. It couldn’t be though. She must have heard it wrong. With a glimmer of hope, her heart dared her to look back. Back to whom the voice belonged…
Speechless, Alice observed the beautiful sight in front of her very own eyes. As soon as she locked eyes with the brunette, without even thinking she stoop up and as if to confirm that she wasn’t hallucinating, she looked up and down the brunette’s body. Blinking a few times, she took a deep breath and with a sudden move she ran into the brunette’s arms. Silent tears streaming down her face, she felt the brunette wrap her arms tightly around her. Alice nestled her head in the nook of the brunette’s neck; deeply inhaling the scent that she had missed the most.

*sniff, sniff* Awesome and touching. You so got me…erm, what I’m saying is that the story really twinges with my heartstrings not you “got me” got me, I mean erm, uhh, argh yeah okay I’ll stop *grins*
Well done, and now I am all teared up along with everyone else. Much better than the writers ending. I think had they actually shot that scene I would have cried twice as much, but for different reasons. Keep writing, you have a definate knack for it, and I’m already a fan!
crying too!!that was excelent – damn i miss Dana
Wow! For your first fanfic that was amazing! Nice one! Cant wait to hear from you again
As sad as it was, this was also uplifting and so much more satisfying than they way things were left. And, yes I know you rarely get closure in real life, but one can dream right? Looking forward to seeing more!
Wow, you would never tell that was your first attempt, you write beautifully already and with such emotion. I’m very much looking forward to where you take this. PPS :)
